Tokyo Day 5 Tips (Wednesday July 28)

Women's 200m Freestyle
SGM: Titmus Gold/Ledecky Silver/Junxuan Bronze ($7.58)

Golden Girl Ariarne Titmus is swimming for another Gold Medal this morning, this time in the Women’s 200m Freestyle.

Her performance and win in the 400m on Monday provided Australia with our moment of the Games so far, and she has opened a clear and justifiable $1.36 favourite, while United States legend Katie Ledecky is understandably our second favourite.

Given the short price available for Arnie, I’m going to select her as the winner in a Same Game Multi and add value elsewhere.

Germany vs Ivory Coast (Men's Football)
Germany to Win ($2.05)

Germany takes on the Ivory Coast in Men’s Football this evening, and they represent good value to win.

The German’s opened their account in the best way possible with a 3-2 victory over Saudi Arabia, but they did suffer defeat at the hands of Gold Medal favourites Brazil in their second fixture.

The Ivorians incredibly held the Brazilians to scoreless draw first-up and they enter this match off the back of a win over Saudi Arabia.

Given that Germany needs to win this match to leapfrog the Ivory Coast, I think that they will return their best performance of the Games so far.

Australia vs Egypt (Men's Football)
Australia to Win ($2.55)

The Olyroos’ campaign continues tonight, and they can record another win over Egypt.

Graham Arnold’s men pulled off the upset of the tournament so far when they sank key medal chance Argentina 2-0 on Matchday 1, and they were unlucky to leak a late goal against powerhouse Spain last time.

They line up opposite and Egyptian side who are yet to record a win at the 2020 games, and who are also yet to find the back of the net.

The $2.55 available for Australia at publish looks a touch of overs.
