The PBR Origin Series has arrived and we’ll be treated to plenty of high octane action at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday!
With last weekend’s series-opening event in Newcastle postponed until October, both Queensland and New South Wales will be eager to begin their respective Origin campaigns on the right hoof, and there’s huge value to be found in betting.
I’ve previed the buck, and you can find my complete 2021 PBR Origin 1 Tips below.
I think that Aaron Kleier is going to prove pivotal to Queensland’s chances at Origin 1 and I think that he will beat Roam Aviation High Risk.
Kleier has largely been in a league of his own for the last couple of seasons, and rarely does a PBR event pass at which he doesn’t at least podium.
He climbs aboard Roam Aviation High Risk, who himself is on a ten-match streak, but this is how highly I rate Kleier.
This looks a great opportunity to get some value out of a bull.
Mixed Culture has been beaten just once in his last ten bucks and on that occasion, it was Aaron Kleier.
He enters this contest off the back of four-consecutive wins in the 2-2.99 ride duration band, and he faces off with Kelsey Pavlou this week, whom he defeated with each at the Elite PBR event last time out.
I think that the bookies have just about nailed this one, so I’m going to dig a little deeper for the value in Ride Duration Bands betting.
Lawson Nobbs enjoyed a competitive season in 2020 and ended the year fifth at the Grand Finals in Townsville, and he has already returned plenty of pleasing results in 2021, highlighted by a win at the Elite PBR event in Townsville.
Interestingly, he rode this bull to victory on that occasion, but Berzerk has since come out and defeat Aaron Kleier, and I don’t think that can be ignored.
I think that the bull win win, but the match will go right down to the wire.
Another star of the 2020 season, Lachlan Richardson will climb aboard Ranga at Origin 1 in Brisbane and I’m confident he can score some points for New South Wales.
Richardson has missed placing at his last three events, but his form earlier in the the year was typically good, and including a second placing at the Rockhampton Invitational.
Ranga has been defeated only once in twelve previous appearances at the PBR, but I think that Richardson is the man to take him down.
Betting suggests that this will be one of the better contests at Origin 1 and there is a case to be made for both rider and bull.
Ty Thomson failed to get on the board at the Rockhampton Invitational in May, but I’m confident those rides will have brought him right back on.
Russian Roulette meanwhile hasn’t made an appearance at a PBR event this year, but he was devastating in 2020 and is on a nine-match winning streak.
I’m going to have something on the bull.
I’m going to have an educated throw at the stumps and back Makin 8 Bucksnort in the 3-3.99 second ride duration bracket in his match with Kurt Shephard.
Shephard has returned plenty of strong efforts throughout the last couple of seasons and enters this match off the back of an impressive win at the Rockhampton Invitational last month.
Makin 8 Bucksnort is probably his toughest assignment so far this season, and the bull has made a habit of winning in the previously stated ride duration band.
