Ipswich: Race 5 (2:52pm)
No. 5 Bombay Nights

Bombay Nights strikes another winnable race at Ipswich this afternoon.

The Zoffany mare charged in to score a lovely win at Casino two starts back and was far from disgraced in town last time, finishing a length and a half sixth at Doomben.

She looks to be at peak fitness for this race and can return to winning form.

Ipswich: Race 6 (3:27pm)
No. 7 Moriconi

Moriconi has improved for two starts back this time and can play a role in the sixth at Ipswich today, at a nice price ($8.50 at publish).

The Better Than Ready filly trialled well in the lead-up to her return and has finished fifth in a couple of Class 1 races not dissimilar to this one.

Fitter third-up and in this open field, we can have an each-way play.

Ipswich: Race 7 (4:04pm)
No. 1 Hey Big Splenda

Hey Big Splenda hasn’t been seen at the races since March, but he stamped himself as a runner to follow during his debut prep and can make a winning return at Ipswich today.

The Rich Enuff gelding broke his maiden at Doomben and placed in another couple of races, finding form around some handy gallopers.

He’s had the benefit of a couple of trials in the lead-up to his return and is my best bet of the day.

Ipswich: Race 8 (4:42pm)
No. 2 Red Bloom

Red Bloom has typically contested tougher races than this one this time in, and she can return to winning form in the last at Ipswich today.

The Red Dazzler mare charged in to score in BM65 company three back and has since contested the Gold Jewel at Eagle Farm and a Saturday metro race here on Ipswich Cup Day.

She’s rock-hard fit and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.
