The PBR is back in action this weekend and we’ll be treated to high-octane action, thrills and spills in Rockhampton!
Bull riding is widely considered to be the toughest eight seconds in world sport, and it takes a brave athlete to step into the arena and go toe-to-toe with a monster bull, weighing upwards of 500kgs.
Neds is the official wagering partner of the PBR, and you can catch all of the action from the Rockhampton Invitational live and free on the Neds App!
Our in-house form experts have pulled apart the entire Rockhampton Invitational program, and you can find their best bets below.
Lawson Nobbs arrives at the Rockhampton Invitational in winning form, and he can win his Section 2 match with Sin Wagon, at a lovely price.
Nobbs returned several eye-catching efforts throughout the 2020 PBR Australia season, culminating in a well-deserved fifth placing at the Grand Finals in Townsville.
The video above shows Nobbs being thrown at his season-opening event here in Rockhampton, but took plenty of improvement for the hit-out and was a very impressive winner at the Elite PBR event in Townsville late last month.
He climbs aboard Sin Wagon, who hasn’t been seen at an official event since unseating Jake Curr in Bundaberg last year.
Cody Heffernan is given a fighter’s chance of winning when he climbs aboard Run For Your Life, but I’m confident that the bull will win, and we’re getting a nice price for that result ($1.75 at publish).
Heffernan is yet to return a scoring ride in three events in 2021, and while he’ll undoubtedly find form at some stage, it might still be a few rides away.
Run For Your Life will be making his PBR debut and that is why we are getting the price, but Fred Kleier Bulls have been terrific throughout the last few seasons, and I am more than happy to roll the dice on this bloke.
Reigning PBR Australia champion Aaron Kleier is in action against Midnight Hour in Rockhampton this week, and he took represents a great winning chance for the cowboys.
Kleier’s 2020 season was nothing short of outstanding, and heralded several event wins and a podium finish at the Grand Finals in Townsville.
He returned to action here at Rockhampton last month for a lucrative win, and he steps out on Saturday following a credible third placing at the Elite PBR event, won by Nobbs.
His world ranking of #44 seems a little off in my opinion, and there is little doubt that he is in fact a top ten rider at his best, which is what we always seem to get.
Midnight Hour has made four appearances at PBR events previously for just one win.
Troy Wilkinson will take on Ambush in Rockhampton, and I think that this looks a great opportunity to get involved with Ride Duration betting.
Ride Duration bands are easily the most lucrative of our PBR markets, and you can take advantage of great odds across the board.
Given the relatively small disparity in head-to-head prices here, I’m confident that the bull will win, but in the latter half of the eight seconds, so I’m going to back the bull in 5-5.99 seconds ($10) and the bull in 6-6.99 seconds ($12).
Lachlan Richardson was another standout performer on the 2020 PBR Australia tour, and he represents value to defeat Crocodile Rock in Rockhampton this weekend ($2 at publish).
If Kleier was the standout, Richarson wasn’t too far off the pace at all, and he recorded impressive wins at Ballarat, Beaudesert and Bundaberg most notably.
He too has made three appearances in 2021, finishing second in Event 1 here at Rockhampton last month, but failing to score at his next two starts.
Crocodile Rock is a seasoned contestant on the PBR tour, and he has been beaten just twice previously.
Betting does suggest that this will be one of the better tussles on Saturday night, but I’m happy to take the value on offer for the Cowboy.
