The action heads to St Petersburg tonight as Sweden and Slovakia, both off the back of impressive performances, square off.
Sweden were given virtually no hope of competing with Spain in their opening fixture, but they effectively weathered the barrage and were unlucky not to score a goal of their own, on the way to a nil-all draw.
Slovakia went up early in their match with Poland thanks to a Wojciech Szczesny own goal, and while they conceded immediately after half-time, Milan Skriniar found the match winner in the 69th minute.
Assuming Spain go on to win their remaining two matches, the result of this contest could prove vital to their chances of both nations progressing to the knockout stage.
A repeat of their last-start effort will see Sweden winning.
Vital points are on the line later in the night when Croatia and the Czech Republic meet in Scotland.
The World Cup finalists were drawn in a tough first round tie with England, and while there was a lot to like about their performance and plenty of eye-catching solo efforts, it ultimately wasn’t enough, and they were beaten 1-0.
The Czech Republic were given a serious match by Scotland, but did enough to walk away 2-0 victors.
Patrik Schick scored a brace, and he still owns the moment of Euro 2020 to date, having blasted his second home from halfway.
Croatia are a better side than Scotland and given that the Czech’s really were challenged by the UK minnows, I think they’ll have their hands full here.
Just cannot wait for this one.
Not since the middle ages has a meeting between the English and the Scots carried so much weight, and we are set for a thrilling contest at Wembley.
England’s youthful and exciting squad looked as one for much of their 90 minute tussle with Croatia, and while it was Raheem Sterling who poked home the winner, most of the praise fittingly fell with Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, who returned easily his best ever performance for the Three Lions.
Scotland played with plenty of heart and some exciting flare that we have come to expect, and they were unlucky not to take anything away from their match with the Czech Republic.
This is another rise in class for them, and Scotland would surely need to go to another level. I do think that they can at least score a consolation goal.
