Sandown: Race 3 (1pm)
No. 2 Mr Mooj

Mr Mooj was an impressive Saturday winner last time, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again this afternoon.

The Robert Hickmott-trained import needed the run he finished down the order at Caulfield when fresh, but he flashed late over 1800m here at Ssndown, before getting out to a mile and a half and putting paid to them.

He has options from the rails draw and gets some relief in the weights under Will Price.

Warwick Farm: Race 4 (2:35pm)
No. 10 Duchess Adele

Duchess Adele flew home to finish second here on a rain-affected track last time and looks well placed to go one better this afternoon.

The Adelaide mare mixed her form a little under David Pfieffer earlier in her prep, but the change in scenery and into Matt Dunn’s set up looks to have brought her on, and she has finished second in similar races to this one at her last two.

She gets into this contest well under the conditions and is primed to strike.

Sandown: Race 8 (3:55pm)
No. 10 Ellis Park

This looks to be one of the more open races on today’s Sandown program and Ellis Park has claims on winning at a nice price.

Ellis Park returned for just two starts last preparation and was sent to the paddock after recording an impressive win at this track and distance.

He kept all of his best work for late when second behind Cliffs Of Belaura here a fortnight ago and he can go one better today under Jamie Kah.

Warwick Farm: Race 7 (4:20pm)
No. 16 Promise Of Success

Promise Of Success couldn’t have been more impressive when fresh, and she can record another win in the last at Warwick Farm today.

The Dansili mare showed some promise during her debut prep in the UK a few years ago, and she returned from a long break to comfortably win here earlier this month.

I’m confident that she’ll only improve for that effort, and I am happy to dive in at the $2.40.
