Hawkesbury: Race 3 (2:05pm)
No. 1 Armour Force

Armour Force has only made two appearances at the races so far, but he looks to be a horse of ability, and he can break his maiden at Hawkesbury this afternoon.

The Fastnet Rock colt hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten just over a length at Kembla Grange on debut, and he ran into a potentially good one in California Sky last time.

Fitter third-up, he looks the one to beat on exposed form.

Pakenham: Race 5 (3pm)
No. 10 Lobster Noodles

Lobster Noodles enters this race third-up and is primed to win.

The Leon & Troy Corstens-trained mare has been a competitive horse for the stable since making her debut, and while she clearly needed the run when finishing down the order at Geelong when resuming, she was far better into third at Ballarat last time.

With even luck, I think she’ll take plenty of beating in this contest.

best bet
Pakenham: Race 6 (3:30pm)
No. 4 Manhattan Sting

Manhattan Sting will take winning form into the sixth at Pakenham today and looks well placed to make it two in a row.

The Dundeel gelding has continued to improve with each effort back from a spell, culminating in a dominant win in BM58 company here last time.

This doesn’t look to be any harder, and he is my best bet of the day.

Hawkesbury: Race 7 (4:25pm)
No. 6 Bob

Bob has returned some lovely efforts recently, and I’m confident that he is ready to win at Hawkesbury today.

The Mark Newnham-trained gelding charged in to finish second here at Hawkesbury three starts back, and while a Saturday race at Rosehill proved to be a bridge too far two starts back, he responded with another competitive effort for second here last time.

He is rock-hard fit and might not get a better opportunity than this.
