Premier League Game Week 36 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 36 Tips & Preview

We are set for a huge week of Premier League fixtures, with 13 games to be played out across five days!

The race for survival is officially over with Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham all confirmed to be kicking about in the Championship next season.

Our focus now switches to the battle for European places, with just nine points separating Chelsea in fourth to Everton in eighth, with Arsenal and Leeds fighting it out for ninth!

We’ve previewed all 10 GW36 fixtures along with the three additional catchup games, while providing our best betting plays below!

MAN UTD VS LEICESTER
Man Utd $2.45

Game Week 36 Kicks off with the first of two Man United blockbusters, as Leicester put it all on the line at Old Trafford.

Should United lose, the title will presented to their annoying neighbours Man City, while a win keeps Ole’s men ‘mathematically’ in the hunt!

Alternatively, the Foxes are sweating on a top four finish after dropping points against both Southampton and Newcastle.

It’s clear as day that the Foxes are experiencing the Rodgers’ wobbles, with the Northern Irish manager squandering promising league positions season after season after season!

Leicester may have to make a call on whether they prioritise the league or the FA Cup final this weekend, with a squad already stretched to the absolute limits.

Form, squad health and talent are all heavily skewed in the Red Devils favour and although Rodgers’ values ‘character’ above all other attributes, I don’t think it will get his side over the line on good attitude alone.

SOUTHAMPTON VS CRYSTAL PALACE (GW32)
Crystal Palace $3.50

Southampton play host to Crystal Palace in a dead rubber the world could do without.

The Saints have arguably been the worst side since the turn of the new year, claiming a measly 11 points from a possible 54!

Meanwhile, Crystal are out to claim back-to-back victories for the first time since Game Weeks 1 & 2, after easing their way to victory over the Blades.

Roy’s boys have travelled particularly well this season, especially against the bottom eight, claiming five wins from six of such fixtures.

Southampton have looked the absolute pits of late and with $3.50 on offer for the visitors, I’ll dipping more than just a toe in here!

CHELSEA VS ARSENAL
Chelsea and Under 3.5 Goals $2.35

Much like Leicester, Chelsea enter this fixture with an eye towards their FA Cup final clash over the weekend.

Though unlike Rodgers, Thomas Tuchel possesses an embarrassment of riches in regards to squad depth, with key players constantly rotated without the loss of output.

The Blues have been outstanding at the Bridge since the arrival of Tuchel, claiming 11 clean sheets across 13 home fixtures in all competitions, with all bar one game finishing with under 2.5 goals!

Arsenal may have strung a couple of wins together against the league minnows, but they are well and truely out of their depth in this one.

ASTON VILLA VS EVERTON (GW19)
Everton $2.60

Aston Villa are out to claim their second victory over Everton in as many weeks when the two sides meet in a rescheduled GW19 fixture.

The Toffees bounced right back to winning ways following that Villa defeat, seeing off top six rivals West Ham 1-0 and building on their impressive record away from home (11W,3D,3L).

Alternatively, the Villans threw away a one goal lead against United at home, ultimately losing 3-1, while also losing their key forward to a red card.

Everton have got their act together on the defensive end and with Ollie Watkins out for Villa I can see the visitors claiming their fourth straight clean sheet on the road here!

MAN UTD VS LIVERPOOL (GW34)
Draw $3.50

Match of the round comes curtsy of the North-West Derby between United and Liverpool.

The Reds will be desperate to secure a result here, already lagging six points behind Leicester in fourth position (at publish), the only UCL action Klopp’s men could potentially encounter next season would be with a PS controller in hand.

Meanwhile, Man U are sitting pretty in second place with their concentration shifting to securing a trophy in the Europa League.

Liverpool’s last Premier League victory at Old Trafford came back in 2014, since then the away side has only claimed two victories across 13 fixtures, with the points being split on six occasions.

The Red Devils are yet to taste defeat to any of the sides currently occupying the tops six places on the table, a record I can’t see being broken by an understrength Reds outfit.

NEWCASTLE VS MAN CITY
Aguero to score + City to Win $2.30

Manchester City have been officially crowned as the 2020/21 Premier League Champions following United 2-1 defeat to the Foxes.

With the season now tied up, I’m expecting Pep to rotate his squad in preparation for their Champions League final versus Chelsea.

This will mean the likes of Sergio Aguero will see a substantial increase in minutes as the club legend bids farewell to his adoring fan base.

The Argentine striker is currently sitting on 182 PL Goals (274 Games), five behind Andy Cole (414 Games) in third place on the all-time goal scoring list!

There’s no doubt in my mind that Pep will want to send off the club legend in style, as such I’m backing Aguero to score and City to cruise past the Toons here.

BURNLEY VS LEEDS
Leeds $2.35

Leeds look to consolidate their position in the top half of the table while sweeping Burnley in the process here.

The Whites have lost just once cross their previous eight league starts (4W,3D) claiming wins against City and Tottenham, while splitting the points with Chelsea, United and Liverpool.

Alternatively, Burnley have only bettered two sides currently sitting inside the top half of the table this season and are starring down the barrel of nine straight home fixtures without a victory.

Leeds are yet to draw a game away from home this season (8W,9L) and I’m backing them to to compile the Clarets woes at Turf Moore.

SOUTHAMPTON VS FULHAM
Southampton $2.05

Southampton can claim their first back-to-back league victories since GW12 should they see off the already relegated Cottagers.

This will be the Saints third game in a week, though their squad has been bolstered by the return of top goal scorer Danny Ings.

Fulham have endured a horrible run of form, claiming just one point across their last seven PL fixtures, scoring only three goals over the trip.

The Saints last lost to Fulham at home in 1998, a run which shouldn’t end here.

BRIGHTON VS WEST HAM
West Ham $2.50

West Ham are desperate to get back to winning ways as their dream of playing in Europe slowly begins to slip through their fingers.

Surprisingly the Hammers have never bettered the Seagulls in the PL (4D,3L), with the last four fixtures between this pair resulting in a scoring draw.

Despite the historic results, the Hammers have zero excuses not to pick up all three points here, Brighton will be without arguably their best player in Lewis Dunk (red card) and attacking pest Neal Maupay (red card).

Dunk has been a key pillar in both defence and attack via set-pieces, without the big unit on the pitch I don’t see Brighton holding on to their unbeaten record here.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS ASTON VILLA
Crystal Palace $3.00

Aston Villa line up for the second time in three days as Dean Smith’s side attempt to break back into the top 10.

The home side have won the last five league fixtures between this pair, with only one of those games seeing both teams score.

The Villans are already dealing with a depleted squad, with two key players in Grealish and Watkins missing through injury and suspension.

Two games in three days tips this tie heavily in the home teams favour and with Benteke finding some form of late, I’m more than comfortable to back the Eagles here.

TOTTENHAM VS WOLVES
Both Teams to Score $1.95

Tottenham need a win here to keep their top 6 chances alive, while the Wolves are desperate to finish on a high following an underwhelming season.

Both sides have managed to score in the pairs previous six league meetings, with the away team claiming victory on four of those occasions (2D).

The Spurs seem to have thrown caution to the wind of late, with five of their last six PL outings all finishing with 4+ goals scored!

With both squad looking vulnerable in defence over the last month, I’ll be backing a high scoring affair in this one.

WEST BROM VS LIVERPOOL
HT/FT Liverpool $1.83

Liverpool make their second appearance in this preview as they prepare to take on the Baggies.

West Brom were officially relegated from the league last week and have nothing left to play for except the chance ruin other clubs parties.

The Reds have struggled against the minnows in recent times, splitting the points with the Baggies across their last three league meetings.

Klopp’s men are undefeated over their last six PL fixtures (at publish), with Champions League on the line I can’t see them dropping the ball here.

EVERTON VS SHEFF UTD
Everton to nil $2.20

Everton have been dealt the bye in the the last game of the round as they line-up against league embarrassments, Sheffield United.

The Blades have been kept scoreless in seven of their last nine “competitive” fixtures, with the their last decent strike curtesy of Ollie McBurnie against some random bloke on the streets of Yorkshire.

Alternatively, the Toffees have won two of their last three games to nil (at publish) and should stroll to another clean sheet here.
