NBA Playoffs Tips, May 26

Nets (-9.5) $1.90

The Celtics take another run at the Nets in what can be best described as a ‘lost cause’.

Brooklyn took the first game by 11-points without getting out of 2nd gear, as Kyrie, KD and Harden combined for 82 of their sides 104 points.

Many of the question marks surrounding Brooklyn’s defensive credentials were put to bed for the time being, as the Celtics (Jayson Tatum) struggled to get their offence going.

The Nets were also guilty of being wasteful with the ball in hand, hitting just 23% of their shots from beyond the perimeter, a far cry from the 39.5% average on the regular season.

Nearing 10 games together in Brooklyn colours, the combination of Harden, Kyrie and Durant is shaping up to be a scary prospect for the rest of the league, with that in mind a -9.5 points spread looks like Childs play for this unit.

Finney-Smith 15+ Points $3.70

The Clippers will be desperate to equal the ledger after dropping their first home game of the series to an inspired Luka Doncic.

The Slovenian guard dropped a 31-point triple double, leading his side to a 10-point upset against the team who sent them packing in the 2020 bubble playoffs.

Game 1 was won and lost on the perimeter, the Clippers who lead the regular season from beyond the arch with 41.% shooting efficiency, threw up a ton of bricks hitting just 11-40 three-point attempts.

Alternatively, the Mavs made a staggering 17-36 attempted threes, while shooting at 50% from the field.

Along with Luka, both Finney-Smith and Hardaway Jr. made 4+ three-point field goals, with their superstar guard likely to receive more attention in game 2 I’m expecting both forwards to find themselves with space to shoot.
