Whittington Ways hasn’t been seen at the races since March last year, but I’m confident he can make a winning return at Grafton this afternoon.
The Whittington gelding was a consistent performer for Chris Munce last time in, and he found form around some good gallopers north of the border.
He has returned two slick trials in the lead-up to his return, and he has won at this point of his preparation previously.
Titration has improved for two starts since debuting and is ready to win at Grafton today.
The Rich Enuff gelding raced greenly on debut at Doomben and finished towards the tail of the field, but returned a far better performance to finish fourth on the Gold Coast last time.
Fitter third-up and seemingly with less depth to this field, he can strike.
September Girl has typically raced well here at Grafton and she can return to winning form in the eighth this afternoon.
The Red Element mare has been a strong and consistent performer this time, winning three races in succession before running fourth in BM83 company here last time.
She is rock-hard fit and will be tough to beat dropping in class.
This is an open race to end today’s Grafton program and a horse like Hurricane Max can fight out the finish.
Hurricane Max doesn’t win out of turn, but he also rarely returns a poor effort, and he enters this contest off the back of a smart effort for second in Class 3 company at Coffs Harbour.
He gets in well under the conditions and is drawn to receive a lovely run.
