We’re now officially into the second half of the 2021 Super Rugby Australia regular season and the undefeated Reds continue to lead the way.
Friday night’s Brumbies vs Force game looks to be the pick of this week’s fixtures, with Saturday’s Waratahs vs Reds game appearing heavily skewed in favour of the visitors.
Round 6 of Super Rugby Australia is off to a bang when the Brumbies host an exciting Force side in the nation’s capital on Friday night.
The Brumbies all but picked up where they left off this campaign, and they enter Round 6 fresh from a bye and prior to that, just their first loss of the season – and a tight one at that.
They look to be on the short and narrow towards another appearance in the Super Rugby Australia Final, but there is still plenty of water to go under the bridge and I actually think that their performance in this match will
Not a lot has been expected of the Force again in 2021, but they have already returned plenty of impressive efforts and have overperformed.
They recorded a well-deserved win over the Waratahs, only just missed the Rebels two weeks ago and were probably unlucky not to pull off the upset of the season over the ladder-leading Reds in Round 5.
They take plenty of momentum and confidence into this match, and I think that they can finish within the line as outsiders again.
Betting suggests that this match is going to be an absolute bloodbath, and it’s not hard to see why.
The Waratahs have been, and remain, just awful.
They have been hugely affected by an exodus of plenty of their former stars, they lack depth and experience, and it has been telling in their inability to go close to beating any other side.
They line up opposite the rampant Reds on Saturday, who remain undefeated, and who are lengths ahead of them in terms of their ability, depth and experience.
There might be something for the Waratahs fans to cheer about if this young crop of players stays together for a few seasons, but things look bleak in the here and now.
The Reds should cover the line easily.
