Randwick-Kensington: Race 1 (1:45pm AEDT)
No. 1 Rapids

Rapids has improved for two starts back from a spell and is ready to win at Randwick-Kensington today.

The Medaglia D’Oro gelding flashed home to finish second behind a fit Military Parade at Canterbury when resuming and filled the minors over 1400m here last time out.

I like that he’s on the short back-up and the rise in trips looks like it will suit.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 6 (4:40pm AEDT)
No. 4 Relucent

Relucent hasn’t been seen at the races since November, but he was a strong and consistent performer las time in, and this looks a lovely launchpad for him.

The Savabeel gelding found form around some above-average gallopers last time in, and he frequently stepped out in better races than this one, generally on a Saturday.

He has had the benefit of a couple of trials in the lead-up to his return and should get every chance under Hugh Bowman.

best bet
Sandown: Race 4 (4:50pm AEDT)
No. 1 Mystery Shot

Mystery Shot returned to winning form with an impressive performance here two weeks ago and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

The Shooting To Win gelding was outstanding last preparation, and while he did require his first run at Flemington to tune up this time, he hasn’t looked back – finishing second behind the impressive Regardsmaree and winning last time.

Fitter fourth-up, he is my best bet of the day.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 7 (5:15pm AEDT)
No. 1 Heart Of Puissance

Heart Of Puissance has stripped fitter for two back this time and can fight out the finish of the seventh at Randwick-Kensington today.

The Puissance De Lune entire filled the minors behind Regardsmaree at Caulfield when resuming and did finish a little further down the order at Sandown last time, but was simply set far too much work.

Fitter third-up, I’m eager to see what he can do at the Sydney way of going.
