Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, April 1

Pakenham: Race 1 (6pm AEDT)
No. 5 Madagascar Miss

Madagascar Miss returned a lovely effort to finish second on debut at Sale and on exposed form, she looks well placed to go one better at Pakenham this evening.

The Rubick filly settled off the pace in her debut run, mustering a nice turn of foot to finish second, albeit well beaten by the potentially classy Canadian Gold.

With natural improvement for that experience, she can fight out the finish of this.

Pakenham: Race 3 (7pm AEDT)
No. 3 Rich Sun

Rich Sun is another runner who will make his second career appearance at Pakenham tonight with winning claim.

The Alexander Rae-trained gelding showed ability at the trials and put the writing on the wall with a nice effort to charge home late into second at the Yarra Valley earlier this month.

He’ll be steered by Craig Williams tonight and he can begin his rise through the grades.

Pakenham: Race 6 (8:30pm AEDT)
No. 1 Cuban State

Cuban State has returned two lovely efforts since debuting and he can record another win at Pakenham tonight.

The Team McEvoy-trained gelding won on debut here in February and was last seen finishing third, beaten just over a length in BM64 company at Cranbourne.

He’ll need to jump well to find a position on pace from barrier 11, but I’m confident he’ll be tough to run down.

Pakenham: Race 8 (9:30pm AEDT)
No. 6 Gennady

I’m eager to have an each-way play on the resuming Gennady in the last at Pakenham tonight ($18 at publish).

Gennady mixed his form a little last time in, but his fresh record is excellent, and he is proven at the distance.

Michael Dee can take a position off the pace from barrier 11 and with even luck, he can finish over the top of his rivals.
