Mornington: Race 1 (12:15pm AEDT)
No. 1 Micro

Micro looks well placed to strike in the first on Neds Mornington Cup Day.

There isn’t a whole lot to exposed form to divulge, but this horse has clearly improved with each start that he has had, culminating in his third placing behind Lightsaber in the VRC Sires’ Produce last time out.

He looks to be at peak fitness today and he can hopefully kick our day off with a win.

Mornington: Race 6 (3:25pm AEDT)
No. 2 Dom To Shoot

This is a sizeable drop in class for Dom To Shoot, and I’m confident that he can record a consolation win.

The talented Perth-trained three-year-old has been a great horse for the Casey stable since making his debut, and signs were positive when he crossed the Nullarbor to finish fifth in the stacked CS Hayes Stakes.

He wasn’t able to make an impact in the Australian Guineas last time out, but fitter third-up, with Pikey keeping the ride and in this company, he appears beautifully placed.

Mornington: Race 7 (4:10pm AEDT)
No. 2 Chapada

The winner of the Neds Mornington Cup gains ballot-free entry into the Caulfield Cup, and Chapada looks beautifully placed to take it out.

The Bullet Train gelding has been a good horse since rising to prominence during his three-year-old season and found form around some of our best stayers last prep; saluting in the Neds Herbert Power Stakes most notably.

He returned an outstanding effort to fill the minors of the Australian Cup last time out and will only be better third-up and out to a mile and a half this afternoon.

No. 10 How Womantic

I concede that odds-on favourite Ancestry will be tough to beat in the Neds Hareeba Stakes, but I’m going to take the each-way value around this runner instead.

How Womantic was simply outstanding during her debut preparation, winning each of her first four career starts and finding form around some above-average gallopers.

She hasn’t shown her best in either of the Rubiton Stakes or the Neds Oakleigh Plate since resuming this time, but I’m confident that she has stripped fitter, and there’s no doubt that this is a decent drop in class.
