Unlaced is seeking a hat-trick of wins when she steps out in the second at Morphettville today and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.
The Niagara mare tuned up with a far effort for fourth in Class 2 company when resuming and simply hasn’t looked back, winning her last two with ease.
Fitter fourth-up and from the good draw, she can win again.
This is a big drop in class for Garner and he can return to winning form.
Garner has been a great horse for the Gordon Richards stable throughout his entire career and has found form around some of the country’s best sprinters; winning several better races than this one.
He filled the minors in the Rubiton Stakes when resuming before a somewhat lacklustre effort in the Oakleigh Plate, but I’m more than happy to give him another chance under these conditions.
Over Exposure returned a flat effort in the Carlyon Cup last time out, but his form prior was excellent and he shapes as a winning chance in this race.
The Rothesay gelding filled the minors behind Vassilator at Caulfield three back and put paid to his rivals in a handicap over a mile at Flemington two starts back.
A repeat of that effort would see him into the finish again.
Stars Of Carrum has continued to improve with each start back this time and he is over the odds in Adelaide Cup betting ($20 at publish).
The Fiorente gelding was an outstanding stayer during his three-year-old season and while he went somewhat amiss during his next couple of preps, a switch to Peter Moody’s yard looks to be doing the job.
I concede that he’ll need to be at his best to beat a few of these, but he gets in well under the conditions and I think he can fight out the finish.
