WESTERN UNITED VS MELBOURNE CITY
HT/FT Melbourne City/Melbourne City @ $2.40

They are dubbing this game as a meeting of East v West, although it’s hardly the cold war.

Western United hosts Melbourne City at AAMI Park and picking a winner for this is pretty straight forward.

City is the in-form team of the A-League thanks to a five-game winning streak.

With eight wins four losses and the Citizens still yet to split the points in any game.

They will take plenty of confidence from their 4-1 smashing of the Wanderers last week.

Western United will have fresh legs going into this game with their clash against Brisbane Roar postponed due to bad weather, but given the current circumstances in the sunshine state – it appears to be a blessing in disguise.

Currently 10th on the A-League table, Western United have won only one game out of their past four and haven’t kept a clean sheet in their past five games, playing Melbourne City does not help to break that streak.

This should be a highly entertaining contest, and very likely to see a fair bit of scoring, but City should be too good and the half-time/full-time market seems like a good value play.

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS VS ADELAIDE UNITED
Adelaide United @ $3.25

The second of the Holy Thursday doubleheader is an absolute beauty.

The top-of-the-table Central Coast Mariners hosts the second-placed Adelaide United in what is undoubtedly the game of Matchweek 15.

Central Coast has been the Cinderella story of this A-League season, however, the Mariners have gone their past three matches without a win.

Thursday nights clash dawns as a must-win for the Mariners, otherwise Adelaide United will take their place on top of the A-League table, and they could drop as low as third depending on how Melbourne City goes in the earlier match.

It’s fair to say they missed an opportunity last week to really cement their place on top of the league, splitting the points against a gallant Melbourne Victory.

The Reds are red-hot.

Adelaide United have won their past six matches and are all systems go, they got the job done with a 1-0 win over Sydney FC and the chance to be top of the league at the end of the 90 minutes is as good a carrot as any.
High scoring, red-hot winning streak and at underdog odds of $3.25, as they say in the punting classics – GET ON RED(s)

MACARTHUR VS PERTH GLORY
Both Teams to Score - $1.53

Good Friday Football brings us the very first meeting between Macarthur and Perth Glory.

Macarthur has won their past two games and is getting back to that good form we saw from the new kids on the A-League block at the start of the season.

They will go into this game as the $2.10 favourites and got the job done last week with a 1-0 win over the ‘Nix in Wollongong.

A 2-1 win over the Jets last Saturday at home broke a bit of a dry spell for Perth Glory, having gone their previous five matches without a win.

From a betting stats perspective, it’s worth taking note that the Glory has gone 18 games without a clean sheet and in eight out of their past 10 games, both teams have scored.

Based on that stat alone, it’s worth looking at both teams to score market and take the potential easy $1.53 win.

Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers

It’s game on!

The lockdown in Brisbane this week may have seen the Roar v Wanderers clash get postponed for the third time this season, but alas, we’re good to go at Redcliffe on Saturday.

Brisbane Roar will be bloody keen to get back on the pitch as their match against Western United was cancelled last week.

The Wanderers copped a 4-1 drubbing from Melbourne City last Friday night in a match they’d rather forget.

After starting the season brilliantly, things have turned sour for the Brisbane Roar having gone their past seven matches without collecting the full three points.

Perhaps home ground advantage is the reason Brisbane Roar are favourites in this one, but the recent string of matches from Warren Moon’s men has hardly been inspiring.

The Western Sydney Wanderers at the $2.90 price is as bloody good a bet there is.

Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC
HT/FT Sydney FC/Sydney FC @ $2.65

The Big Blue is always a highlight of the A-League fixture between old rivals Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC.

Victory will take comfort in the fact they didn’t lose to the Central Coast Mariners last week (a 1-1 draw), but they didn’t win either.

Still sitting very comfortably on the bottom of the A-League table, Melbourne Victory would love to upset the Sky Blues to show a sign of life in this season, but you just can’t see it happening.

They go into this game the $4.60 underdog and not even the most optimistic Victory fan will or should take it.

Perhaps they’ll take confidence from splitting the points with the Mariners, but Sydney FC should simply be too good in this one.

The half time/full-time market is a good value play in this one.
