The Group 2 Adelaide Cup is the feature race on Monday at Morphettville with a quality group of staying horses accepted for the time honoured race.
First run in 1864, just three years after the first Melbourne Cup, the race was downgraded from a Group 1 in 2007.
Noted winners of the race include Rain Lover, Hyperno, Subzero and more recently Surprise Baby.
