We are set for an outstanding day of racing this Monday afternoon at Morphettville with the running of the Group 2 Adelaide Cup over 3200m.
There is plenty of quality racing taking place and our full Adelaide Cup Day Tips & Preview can be found below.
Bolsonaro is having her third start and although she has not yet broken through for a win, she has been excellent in both her races.
She was cramped for room at a vital stage over 1000m last start at this track but she picked up late to find the line really well late.
Barrier three is a plus.
Jackthegiantslayer was very ordinary when resuming over 1400m at Murray Bridge but he is a horse that has contested much tougher races than this one in recent times.
He does rise in weight for this race but Lachlan Neindorf will give the horse some weight relief and I am keen to take on a couple at the top of the market in this contest.
He is much better than a $50 shot and I suggest a small each way bet.
Highly Discreet is a filly with a fair amount of ability and although she has just the one win to her name from eight career starts, she has form around some pretty handy horses.
She finished fifth behind Written Beauty in the Red Roses at Flemington and was again fifth last start at The Valley behind Macroura.
Will Price gives some weight relief and will steer from barrier six.
Night Raid looked a really nice prospect when she put together back to back wins early in her career but she hasn’t stepped up to that top grade as yet.
She was just okay when resuming in the Typhoon Tracy at The Valley but she will find this race much easier.
Big gear change with Jamie Kah on first time. Oh and the blinkers!
Sizzlefly has been a consistent performer throughout her 17 starts career with five wins and a further five placings.
Two of those wins have been at this track and distance and she will appreciate the drop down in grade for this race.
Blinkers on first time.
The former English galloper Ironclad has won both his starts so far this prep, the latest was a pretty soft win at this track and distance.
It was a slow grind but he eventually got passed Ritratto who he meets 4kgs worse at the weights in this contest.
I think he will take plenty more improvement out of that last run and despite the pull in weights I think he has that horses’s measure and we are getting far better odds.
This looks a very intriguing edition of the time honoured Adelaide Cup and you can view my full 2021 Adelaide Cup Tips RIGHT HERE.
2020 Group 2 Wakeful Stakes winner Victoria Quay kick starts her autumn campaign in a very winnable Morphettville Guineas.
Her turn of foot was apparent when she beat home Personal in the Wakeful, a horse that then went on to win the Victoria Oaks a start later.
Jamie Kah rose her that day at Flemington and she again holds the reigns from barrier six.
Hypersonic put together two impressive wins on the trot last prep including a soft win at this track where he led from start to finish.
He then headed to Victoria where he ran into a couple of rain effected tracks which didn’t suit.
He will be much better back on top of the ground and he can finish out day on a winning note.
