Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday, February 17

best bet
Randwick-Kensington: Race 5 (4:40pm AEDT)
No. 6 Marsannay

Marsannay has been good in some quality races this preparation and might not be offered a better opportunity to win.

The Snitzel colt filled the minors in the Listed Gosford Guineas when fresh and has placed at each of his two subsequent starts, once behind Yao Dash on the Gold Coast and once in BM72 company at Rosehill.

Nash Rawiller rides from the rails draw and he is my best bet of the day.

Sandown: Race 5 (6pm AEDT)
No. 8 Dirty Deeds

Dirty Deeds has won better races than this during his career and shapes as a winning chance third-up at Sandown today.

The four-year-old son of Dundeel finished midfield in BM70 company at Caulfield when resuming and was last seen finishing fourth behind the impressive Regardsmaree, beaten just over two and a half lengths.

With improvement for that effort and dropping back to a midweek race, the $6 that is available for him at publish looks over the odds.

Sandown: Race 6 (6:30pm AEDT)
No. 4 Alburq

Alburq has been consistent without winning this prep, but he gets another chance at Sandown today.

The Rubick gelding finished second behind the talented Riding The Wave at Flemington on New Year’s Day and has had two more starts down the straight in the wake, finishing fourth in BM84 company and third behind Zoushack at his latest.

A return to racing with a turn might prove to be beneficial, while this looks to be the easiest race that he has contested for some time.

Sandown: Race 7 (7pm AEDT)
No. 10 Tarcoola Diva

Tarcoola Diva faces a rise in class, but she could hardly have been more impressive when resuming and boasts plenty of upside.

The Cluster filly ended her last prep with a couple of runs in black type company, and she comfortably put away a BM58 field at Sale when resuming.

She is drawn and weighted well and can continue her rise through the grades.
