He’ll be required to step well from the wide draw, but Invictus Waive simply couldn’t have been more impressive at this track and trip last week and I am happy to stick with him in Race 7 tonight.
The classy son of Black Magic Opal has returned plenty of pleasing performances this campaign, but there is absolutely no denying that last week’s effort was one of the best of his career to date.
He does harbour good box speed and if he can effectively cross his rivals and find a nice position in transit, he can make it two in a row.
Kuro Kismet is another last-start winner who has serious claims again at Sandown Park tonight.
The two-year-old daughter of Aston Dee Bee he been a model of consistency since returning from a break and was rewarded for her condition with a lovely win in slick time here late last month.
I like that she is a few weeks between runs and she should get a nice cart into the race from the runner drawn just to her inside.
Smart As Jack almost certainly needs to lead his races if he is any chance of winning, but he is drawn to receive the gun run from Box 1 tonight and therefore shapes as a live contender at a price ($11 at publish).
As that assessment would suggest, the son of Moreira has mixed his form a little this campaign, but his better performances have been very eye-catching.
With control of the race from the front of the pack, he’ll be tough to catch late.
Thursday Knight has been outstanding since debuting and strikes another very winnable race at Sandown Park tonight.
The son of Aston Dee Bee has made just four appearances since debuting in October, but haswon three teams, each win better than the last.
He just needs clear passage from the central box to win again, so I’m going to select him as the winner in a Same Race Multi and build out my ticket with Aston Toto running into the first three and Matilda Hook running into the first four.
