One very lucky Neds punter has given new meaning to the term ‘any given Sunday’ by jagging a memorable eight-leg Same Game Multi during this week’s final slate of regular season NFL action.
Week 17 shaped up to be a doozy with several division titles and playoff spots still up for grabs, but it appears no amount of uncertainty was going to stop our lucky client from landing himself a six-figure profit.
Ask any seasoned punter and they’ll likely rattle off a few horror stories about losing a multi by one leg, or the time they stupidly put the house on the Falcons.
Fortunately, our pigskin pundit made some smart and calculated decisions, all of which can be found in another edition of ‘The Big Score’ below!
J.K. Dobbins -0.5/Over 1.5 Touchdowns Double
It’s safe to say Ravens rookie running back J.K. Dobbins had himself a nice day at the office against the hapless Bengals.
The second-round pick rushed for a career-high 160 yards against Cincinnati, but most importantly found the end zone in his sixth straight game.
Dobbins has been Baltimore’s go-to in the redzone this year and our lucky client took full advantage in the double market.
Jeff Wilson Jr +0.5/Over 1.5 Touchdowns Double
Next, our money man turned his attention to 49ers running back Jeff Wilson, who played a key part in Monday’s narrow loss to Seattle.
Wilson has enjoyed a breakout year in San Francisco running for 600 yards and 11 touchdowns, largely due to injuries to Jerick McKinnon and Raheem Mostert.
It was a long wait before he finally found the endzone in the fourth quarter, setting up a few anxious legs to follow.
Derrick Henry -0.5/Over 2.5 Touchdowns Double
Backing the league’s leading rusher against the league’s worst run defence?
That, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call a lock.
It wasn’t pretty, but Derrick Henry single-handedly won the Titans the AFC South, and our punter a large chunk of money, with a huge 250-yard, two touchdown day on the ground.
Needing at least 200-yards to surpass 2,000 on the season, our man loaded up on the league’s best running back for the touchdown double, which he went about with ease scoring in the second and third quarter.
Jonathan Taylor -0.5/Over 1.5 Touchdowns Double
Jonathan Taylor had scored a touchdown in each of his previous three games heading into Monday’s crucial game against Jacksonville, so this was another great bet from our gridiron guru.
Taylor, another of the league’s most promising rookies, crossed the goal line twice against the Jaguars and is a name you’ll want to include in your multis again this weekend in the Wild Card game against the Bills.
Aaron Jones +0.5/Over 1.5 Touchdowns Double
Much like Derrick Henry, Aaron Jones has been one of the safest touchdown scorer bets of the entire season.
Green Bay’s underrated back has been struggling through nagging injuries of late, but he still managed to find the scoreboard for his ninth touchdown of the season against the Bears.
Jones and the rest of the Packers will enjoy a week off now after securing the first seed in the NFC, a much-needed break as they hope to make a serious Super Bowl push.
J.D McKissic to Have 15+ Receiving Yards
Unless you’re a hardcore NFL nut, the name J.D. McKissic might not ring a bell.
Thankfully, our man had done his homework on Washington’s newest recruit and managed to boost his multi odds by backing him to have 15+ receiving yards in a crucial game against the Eagles on Monday.
McKissic is a running back, but he’s really turned into one of Alex Smith’s favourite targets.
The 27-year-old caught for a career-high 77-yards last week against the Panthers and also played a big part in Washington booking a ticket to the playoffs with five catches against Philly.
Antonio Gibson 60+ Rushing Yards
If you’re starting to think this bloke is a Washington fan, you might be right.
Former receiver turned running back Antonio Gibson was also included in this eight-legger to rush for over 60 yards against the Eagles, another safe-ish bet based on the rook’s numbers this season.
Gibson ran for 115 yards three weeks prior against Dallas and managed to wrack up another 75 on Monday against the Eagles.
If WFT are to beat the red-hot Bucs this weekend, they’ll need more of that from the promising third-rounder.
Washington Football Team 1-13
The final leg of this stunning multi was probably the most nerve-wracking as Washington found themselves ahead by only a field goal heading into the fourth quarter against Philly.
As luck would have it, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson basically chose to throw the game by swapping Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld under center, which went a long way to setting up another field goal from Dustin Hopkins.
WFT held on for a six-point win in the end, a huge result with the 1-13 margin paying $2.35.
