Flemington: Race 3 (4:30pm AEDT)
No. 9 Modear

Modear has returned some lovely efforts this preparation and strikes another winnable contest at Flemington this afternoon.

Having won in BM64 company at Ladbrokes Park when resuming, the Helmet mare finished fifth behind the likes of Riding The Wave here at HQ before filling the minors in BM78 company last time out.

She gets into this race well under the conditions and is further boosted by the booking of Craig Williams.

Flemington: Race 6 (6pm AEDT)
No. 2 Alburq

Alburq boasts a class edge over most of his rivals in the penultimate race at Flemington today and he can return to winning form.

The Rubick gelding hasn’t been far from the winner in three starts back this time, and he was last seen finishing off well for fourth in BM84 company at this track and distance.

Craig Williams has options from the rails draw and the $4.80 available for the horse at publish looks over the odds.

Canterbury: Race 4 (7:15pm AEDT)
No. 2 Lando Bay

Lando Bay has continued to improve this preparation and is ready to win at Canterbury tonight.

Lando Bay hasn’t won since June last year, but he rarely returns a bad effort, and has hit the line well to place at each of his last two starts, including a close second behind the classy Zing in BM78 company two back.

He is rock-hard fit and Nash Rawiller has options from the rails draw.

Canterbury: Race 5 (7:45pm AEDT)
No. 2 Vreneli

Vreneli has enjoy a meteoric rise to prominence and he can record another win in tonight’s feature race at Canterbury.

The Wandjina gelding immediately stamped himself as a runner to follow when comfortably winning on debut at Randwick-Kensington, and while he could only manage a fifth placing behind the talented Private Eye when second-up, he responded with another comfortable win at the Warwick Farm midweeks.

With further improvement from that hit-out and from the good draw, this looks a perfect target for him.
