Sydney Thunders vs Perth Scorchers
Thunder to Win ($2.20)

An intriguing contest will see the Sydney Thunder take on the Perth Scorchers at Manuka Oval on Tuesday evening, and a win could very well prove vital to the finals chances of both sides, even this early in the season.

The Scorchers were awful in their campaign opener against the Renegades, while their second match against the Melbourne Stars was rained out and deemed a no contest. Despite having yet to get on the board, they remain very firm $1.67 favourites to knock off the Thunder here, who are now out to $2.20.

Jason Roy is considered to be one of the world’s leading short-form batsman, so it probably comes as no surprise that he is the $3.75 favourite to top score for the Scorchers, ahead of a log jam of Colin Munro and Liam Livingstone, both rated $4.25 chances, and Josh Inglis, $4.50.

For the Thunder, Alex Hales and Usman Khawaja share the top line of betting at $3.50, while there’s good value around the likes of captain Callum Ferguson, $4.50, and Alex Ross, $6.

The Thunder’s last start win over the Heat suggested that they are in with a competitive chance of a deep run this season, and they are over the odds at their current price.
