Neither the Thunder nor the Heat were able to account for the Melbourne Stars over the weekend, and both with therefore be desperate to get off the mark at Manuka Oval this evening. Both sides have attracted attention in the market but as it stands, the Thunder are on track to start favourites at $1.73, value around the Heat at $2.10.
The Thunder boast a plethora of big-hitting talent at the top of their order and that is echoed in the market – Alex Hales is tied on the top line of betting with Usman Khawaja to score the most runs for the Thunder at $3.50, captain Callum Ferguson is the sole occupant of the second line at $4.50.
Absolutely no surprise to see Chris Lynn as a firm favourite to top the run sheet for the Heat at $3.25.
I was confident that the Thunder would prove difficult to beat in their campaign opener, and while they wouldn’t quite get there against a fitter Stars outfit, I’m confident that they’ll improve for that effort and ultimately win this match.
If the Heat are any chance of winning this (and any game in BBL10), Chris Lynn needs to fire, and I think that’s where the value lies tonight.
