No. 4 Andrea Mantegna

This is an open edition of the Werribee Cup and Andrea Mantegna has claims on winning at a lovely price ($13 at publish).

The Giant’s Causeway gelding has been a model of consistency this preparation, winning four of his last four starts, and he was last seen finishing a length and a half from the winner in BM90 company at The Valley.

He is rock-hard fit, drawn ideally and takes a few kgs from the topweights.

Werribee: Race 9 (5:50pm AEDT)
No. 9 Brazen Song

Brazen Song has stripped fitter for two starts back from a spell and is ready to win.

The Brazen Beau mare returned plenty of good efforts in decent races last time in, and while she clearly needed the run when finishing down the order at Mornington when fresh, she was far better to the line for second over 1200m last time out.

Third-up, out to 1400m and with Jye McNeil in the saddle, she is primed to strike.
