I’m confident that Ad Astra can return us yet another winner at Wentworth Park tonight.
The son of Fernando Bale simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race. He has won six of his last eight starts, including a dominant performance from out wide at this track and distance last week.
He has these rivals covered for class, he needs only even luck from the box to be in the finish again.
Here’s Tears was an impressive winner of the Newcastle Cup last week, and I think that he can make it two in a row in tonight’s Group 3 Christmas Cheer.
Here’s Tears has been one of Australia’s best staying chasers for some time now, and his win at Listed level was very eye-catching.
He’ll have the benefit of an empty box on his inside tonight and he looks the one to beat.
This shapes as another very winnable race for Vicki’s Queen and I am happy to put her on top.
The daughter of Barcia Bale has won five of her last six starts, and bounced back from a poor effort here two back with a smart win under tough circumstances last week.
She can go straight to the lead tonight, and I am going to select her as the winner in a Same Race Multi.
Building value, I’m also going to select both Maldini and Sovereign King to finish in the first four.
Our Same Race Multi selections are:
- 1 Vicki’s Queen (Win)
- 3 Maldini (Top 4)
- 4 Sovereign King (Top 4)
Cumbria Jim has clearly found his best form, and with luck from Box 6, he can claim a hat-trick of wins at Wentworth Park tonight.
The son of Barcia Bale hasn’t missed placing in his last seven starts, but his last two performances, both over 365m at Nowra, have been particularly impressive.
This is a little harder, certainly from the draw, but he has the ability to overcome it all.
