Some of the world’s best milers are drawn to Sha Tin each year, and we are set for another outstanding edition of the Hong Kong Mile on Sunday!
Golden Sixty has enjoyed an absolutely ludicrous racing career so far it is isn’t surprising at all to see him as a dominant favourite in Hong Kong Mile betting.
Have I put him on top? Scroll down to the 2020 Hong Kong Mile tips below to find out!

It would take a far braver man than me to tip against him.
Golden Sixty has made thirteen appearances at the races since debuting and he has recorded an incredible twelve race wins.
The Medaglia D’Oro gelding is obviously a class above most that he runs into, and he has tuned up for this race with comfortable wins in the Group 3 Celebration Cup, the Group 2 Sha Tin Trophy and the Group 2 J.C. Mile.
He requires only even luck in running to win again.
Once the best miler in the world and still a bloody good horse, Beauty Generation is a multiple Group 1 champion, and he can run a big race in the Hong Kong Mile.
The Road To Rock gelding won each of the Group 1 Jubilee Cup and the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy before ending his last prep second in the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy, and resumed in September for second behind Golden Sixty in the Celebration Cup.
He was last seen finishing midfield in the Sha Tin Trophy, but I’m confident that he’ll take plenty of improvement for that effort, and David Hayes will have him cherry ripe for this contest.
Reigning Hong Kong Mile champion Admire Mars will take his place in this year’s field, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again as well.
The Daiwa Major entire has made just three appearances at the races since winning here last year, but has tuned up nicely for his defence with consecutive third-placings in the Group 2 Swan Stakes and Group 1 Mile Championship, both in his homeland Japan.
Fitter third-up, under ideal conditions, he can give Golden Sixty and Beauty Generation a decent contest.
Waikuku is another Hong Kong-based horse that has been good for a long period of time now, and he is up to running a place in the Hong Kong Mile.
The John Size-trained gelding hasn’t been seen at the races since April, but he was typically consistent last time in, and won the Group 1 Steward’s Cup most notably.
In my humble opinion, he is definitely the ‘best of the rest’ outside of the top three horses in the Hong Kong Cup field this year.
