Port Macquarie: Race 1 (1:15pm AEDT)
No. 7 Leave Me Some

Leave Me Some simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and she looks the one to beat in Race 1 at Port Macquarie today.

The daughter of Time Thief finished second at each of her first three appearances back this time and was rewarded for her improving conditions with a lovely win in Class 3 company here last time out.

She looks to be at peak fitness for this contest, she gets in well under the conditions and can continue her rise through the grades.

Port Macquarie: Race 3 (2:25pm AEDT)
No. 6 Opinions

Opinions will appreciate a return to a track rated in the good range today, and he shapes as a winning chance at Port Macquarie, at a price ($7.50 at publish).

The So You Think gelding needed the run when he finished at the tail of the field at Newcastle first-up, but followed up that effort with a smart run to finish second in BM66 company at Muswellbrook, just a head behind the winner.

He clearly didn’t like the heavy going that he struck last time but still managed to finish fourth, and I think he’ll be in the finish of this race.

Port Macquarie: Race 5 (3:40pm AEDT)
No. 6 Dragoneight

Dragoneight has improved for two starts this time and is ready to win at Port Macquarie this afternoon.

The six-year-old son of Hidden Dragon filled the minors in BM58 company at Taree when resuming in mid-October and ran home well to finish second at Coffs Harbour last time out, albeit well beaten by the winner.

Fitter third-up from the rails draw and with Jeff Penza in the saddle, I think that this looks his race.

Port Macquarie: Race 7 (4:50pm AEDT)
No. 2 Ciao Uno

This is a rise in class for Ciao Uno, but she harbours plenty of upside and can definitely win again.

The Kris Lees-trained filly returned three competitive efforts during her debut preparation without winning, and she returned to the races this time for an utterly dominant win here at Port Macquarie, beating home her rivals by close to six lengths.

She’ll only improve for that effort and the booking of Andrew Gibbons to ride is positive.
