The Gardens: Race 5 (6:42pm AEDT)
No. 2 Winlock Augustus

Winlock Augustus will take winning form into the fifth at The Gardens tonight and can make it two in a row.

The son of Premier Fantasy rarely runs a bad race, but his effort at this track and distance for a near four-length win was particularly eye-catching.

He can go forward from Box 2 and will be tough to beat.

The Meadows: Race 6 (8:10pm AEDT)
No. 8 Sir Truculent

This is obviously a rise in class for Sir Truculent, but he has been racing extremely well recently, and he looms as a winning chance in the Group 1 Topgun Stayers Final tonight, at a price ($19 at publish).

Sir Truculent has won five of his last six starts, all in very fast time, and he enters this contest off the back of consecutive wins from wide draws.

He needs only even luck in running to be in the finish again and at the price, we can have a genuine each-way play.

The Gardens: Race 9 (8:14pm AEDT)
Same Race Multi

Laurie’s Flyer is a clear favourite to win Race 9 at The Gardens tonight and will take a power of beating again.

The son of Fernando Bale has won two of his last three starts, both in particularly quick time, and one at this track and distance.

At his best, I don’t think anything in this race can beat him, so I’m going to select him as the winner in a Same Race Multi.

If Thunda Touch steps well, he can run a bold race, so I’m going to select him to finish in the first three, while Whatta Lurker adds value to finish in the first four.

Our Same Race Multi selections are:

  • 6 Laurie’s Flyer (Win)
  • 4 Thunda Touch (Top 3)
  • 7 Whatta Lurker (Top 4)
The Meadows: Race 8 (8:45pm AEDT)
No. 1 Tommy Shelby

Tommy Shelby has been outstanding this campaign and can record a Group 1 win in tonight’s Group 1 Topgun Final.

The son of Fernando Bale has won six of his last eight starts, arriving in Sydney two back from a dominant win at Wentworth Park, and filling the minors from out wide last week.

He’s drawn to receive the gun run tonight and will take plenty of beating.
