UFC Fight Night: Hall vs Silva – Tips & Preview

Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva, Middleweight, Main Event
Hall by KO/Points

Uriah Hall opens as the relatively comfortable $1.46 favourite here, with Silva the $2.65 outsider.

Hall has had a high-profile career to date, although his 15-9 record is nothing to write home about.

He has struggled against some top names, but 3 wins in his last 4 suggest he is getting back on form.

Known primarily for his elite spinning heel kick, 11 of his wins have come by way of knockout.

One of the most storied middleweights of all time, the 45-year-old Anderson Silva enters this contest with a 34-10-1 career record.

A once dominant fighter, his performances have clearly faded of late, winning only 1 of his last 8 fights.

Also known for his elite combination of speed and power, 22 of his career wins have come by knockout.

Personally, I’m of the opinion that Anderson Silva should just give it up at this point.

He is nowhere near his past level and I’d expect him to struggle against Hall here.

Hall definitely has the speed and power advantage at this stage and should be able to outpoint him early and often.

He also definitely has the capability to register another KO, so I’ll opt for the Hall by KO/Points double chance here.

Andre Fili vs Bryce Mitchell, Featherweight, Co-Main
Fili to Win

Bryce Mitchell opens this bout as the $1.57 favourite, with Andre Fili the current $2.41 outsider.

Mitchell enters this contest with an undefeated 13-0 record, going 3-0 since joining the UFC last year.

Known primarily as a submission specialist, 9 of his career wins have come by way of submission.

Fili is the more experienced of the two fighters, entering this bout with a 21-7 career record.

He has been in some solid recent form, winning 5 of his last 7 fights.

Known for his versatility, he has 9 knockouts, 3 submissions, and 9 decisions to his name so far.

Overall, I like the look of the underdog Fili in this one.

He is definitely the best opponent of Mitchell’s career and has had much more high-profile fights.

I think he has a strong edge on the feet here and has the takedown defense necessary to avoid a ground game struggle.

I’d expect him to use his striking ability to get out to the early lead here, either holding on for a points victory or getting an elusive KO.
