PBR Ariat Invitational Tips & Preview

PBR Ariat Invitational Tips & Preview

After a week off, we’re set for another huge weekend of bull riding at the PBR Ariat Invitational Presented By Cooper Tires!

World number 1 Jose Vitor Leme has been riding like a man possessed, so of course he features in this week’s PBR tips.

Don’t forget that you can stream all the PBR action live and free on the Neds app!

Derek Kolbaba vs Lonesome Fugitive
Ride Duration Under 4 Seconds ($1.85)

Lonesome Fugitive is an understandable and justifiable favourite to beat Derek Kolbaba first-up at the PBR Ariat Invitational, and I think there’s really value in ride duration betting.

Kolbaba’s recent form has been fair – he failed to land a score at the PBR WinStar World Casino & Resort Invitational, but was good at his two events prior.

Lonesome Fugitive has been on another level, however, and hasn’t lost in seventeen previous appearances at the PBR.

Nine of his last eleven matches have seen the Cowboy off in under 4 seconds, so that is exactly what I’m going to back here.

Stetson Lawrence vs Charlie Brown
Bull in 2-2.99 Seconds ($3.80)

An intriguing contest looms between Stetson Lawrence and Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown has only had four bucks at the PBR so far, but has been thrown the Cowboys in just over 1 second twice, but been defeated on the other two occasions.

Lawrence’s recent form has only been fair, and given the apparent ‘rocks or diamonds’ nature of his opponent this week, I’m going to roll the dice on Charlie Brown winning in a low band.

Mason Taylor vs Smoke Signals
Smoke Signals to Win ($1.70)

Smoke Signals hasn’t won either of his last two matches, but I’m expecting him to bounce back into winning form against Mason Taylor.

Taylor did finish fifth at the WinStar Invitational a couple of weeks ago, but that was just his second scoring event in six, and his form really has only been shaky.

Betting suggests that this will be one of the better match ups, but I am happy to side with the bull.

Jose Vitor Leme vs Safety Meeting
Vitor Leme to Win ($1.70)

In terms of cowboys, it’s Jose Vitor Leme and daylight in 2020, and he once again represent a terrific opportunity to win at the PBR Ariat Invitational Presented by Cooper Tires.

We say it week in, week out, but there really isn’t a cowboy that is as strong and consistent as Vitor Leme – he has won three of the last four top-line PBR events, including the WinStar World Casino And Resort Invitational most recently.

He comes up again Safety Meeting this week, who has lost his last two matches with Lucas Divino and Joao Ricardo Vieira.

Debutants Multi: Hot Wired, Big Western Both to Win
$2.36

Both Hot Wired and Big Western will make their PBR debuts at the Ariat Invitational, and both bulls are offered a terrific opportunity to win.

Hot Wired comes up against Rubens Barbosa, who has failed to record a score at his last six events.

Big Western will square off with Joao Lucas, who hasn’t scored at his last three events.

Coupled into a two-leg multi, we’re getting a lovely price.

Suggested Multi: Trapped, Solid Iron’s Hammer Down, Who’s Hot, Game Changer All to Win
$3.45

As always, we’re also going to saddle up with a four leg multi, combining four firm favourites for a better price.

I will be surprised if Trapped and Solid Iron’s Hammer Down don’t defeat Cody Nance and Taylor Toves respectively, while Who’s Hot and Game Changer also look well placed against Cole Melancon and Kaique Pacheco, and they add good value.
