Geelong: Race 1 (1:30pm)
No. 9 Kenzan

Kenzan looks to be a gelding on the rise and he can break his maiden at Geelong this afternoon.

The three-year-old son of Adelaide needed the run when he finished midfield on debut at Bendigo, but he returned a far more eye-catching effort to finish only a couple of lengths from the winner at Sandown, last time out.

Fitter third-up and into what is probably an easier race, this looks his opportunity.

Wyong: Race 2 (1:45pm)
No. 8 Write On

Write On has improved for two starts this preparation, and he is ready to win at Wyong this afternoon.

The Written Tycoon gelding stepped out in some decent races during his short debut prep, and he resumed this time for a credible fourth here at Wyong before filling the minors behind Destacado last time out.

He can slot in behind the early pace from barrier 8 and with even luck, he’ll be hard to hold out.

Wyong: Race 7 (4:45pm)
No. 2 Chanting

The early scratching of a couple of key runners including the undefeated Commanding Missile has blown this race wide open, and a runner like Chanting has live claims on winning.

The Godolphin-trained mare has stripped fitter for two starts back from a spell, including a credible third behind Regimental Band over 1300m here when resuming.

Fitter third-up, she can slot in behind the early pace from barrier 8 and with even luck, she can fight out the finish.

Wyong: Race 8 (5:25pm)
No. 7 Zeftabrook

Zeftabrook hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but her fresh record is excellent and she can make a winning return at Wyong this afternoon, at a lovely price ($6.50 at publish).

The Hinchinbrook filly resumed in March for a lovely win over 1000m at Muswellbrook, before repeating that effort and result in the Wellington Boot.

The Listed Woodlands Stakes proved to be a bridge too far at that point of her career, but this is a big drop in class for that contest, and she’s had the benefit of a couple of trials leading into it.
