The penultimate round of Super Rugby Aotearoa could be the coronation for the Crusaders as they have a chance to claim this season’s Kiwi crown.
On the back of three straight Super Rugby titles, it should come as no shock for them to be leading the pack but a victory against the Highlanders would give them an unassailable lead.
First though the Chiefs are still looking for their first victory and they will have it all to do as they face the Hurricanes on Saturday.
Read on for our tips and previews for Super Rugby Aotearoa this weekend.
It does occasionally feel like we’re picking on the Chiefs but when you’re anchored to the foot of the table with a grand total of zero wins, you have to take your punishment.
They continue to go close and surely they will find a way to break through eventually but for the time being it’s worth continuing to back against them.
Not to mention the Hurricanes are having a resurgence of sorts, winning four straight games including a last start win over the Crusaders.
They are in form, full of confidence and with a line of just 5.5 points, well worth backing in.
Safe to say that loss to the Hurricanes was a momentary blip for the champions elect instead of a cause for concern.
In recent times, the Crusaders don’t lose to the Highlanders, claiming the last five meetings, all by at least 20 points.
These are the games this squad lives for and with the opportunity to claim a title in front of their home fans, they will do so in emphatic fashion.
