Pakenham: Race 2 (1:30pm)
No. 3 Journey Of Song

Journey Of Song has improved for three starts this preparation and is ready to win at Pakenham this afternoon.

He needed the run when fifth at Ballarat when resuming, but Journey Of Song has since stormed home to finish second in a pair of races at this track and distance, and looks to be at peak fitness for this contest.

He’s drawn well and will take beating.

Pakenham: Race 5 (3pm)
No. 5 Magazine

This is one of, if not the best race on today’s Pakenham card, but I am confident that Magazine is the horse to beat.

The Danny O’Brien-trained mare hasn’t missed a place at her last four starts, recording a lovely win at Wangaratta two back before filling the minors behind Grinzinger Allee at Cranbourne, last time out.

John Allen has options from the rails draw and she is my best bet of the day.

Townsville: Race 9 (3:50pm)
No. 4 Dunatun

Dunatun has returned to the races in good form this time and looks the one to beat in Race 9 at Townsville this afternoon.

The Snitzel gelding debuted for Stephen Massingham with an eye-catching effort to finish second here at Townsville, and was last seen filling the minors of a similar race.

Fitter third-up and from the good draw, this looks his opportunity.

Scone: Race 6 (4:20pm)
No. 2 Light Of Uluru

Light Of Uluru has returned some pleasing efforts this time and strikes a winnable contest at Scone this afternoon.

The Eurozone mare won in BM58 company here in June and has continued to perform well as the bar as been lifted.

She ran seventh in a similar race to this last time out, but was just over a length from the winner and she is drawn to receive the run of the race today from gate 4.
