Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, August 20

Hawkesbury: Race 4 (2:35pm)
No. 13 Stellar Pauline

Stellar Pauline hasn’t been seen at the races since March, but she’s also yet to return a poor effort and can break her maiden at Hawkesbury this afternoon.

The Not A Single Doubt filly ran second in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on debut and second at her next three career starts, running into some good horses along the way.

She was last seen finishing fifth in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes, and she has had the benefit of a couple of trials leading into this, which is easiest the softest task that she has been set.

Hawkesbury: Race 5 (3:10pm)
No. 1 Garrison

Garrison will take winning form into the fifth at Hawkesbury this afternoon and can continue his rise through the grades.

The Peter & Paul Snowden-trained gelding finished midfield when resuming at Newcastle, but charged through to score by a length on heavy going at Gosford last time out.

Fitter third-up and from an inside draw, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

Hawkesbury: Race 6 (3:45pm)
No. 4 Tectonicus

This is one of the better races on today’s card at Hawkesbury and I think that Tectonicus will take plenty of beating.

The Not A Single Doubt gelding has continued to improve with each of his four starts since debuting, culminating in an easy win in maiden company at Canterbury a couple of weeks ago.

He handles the heavy going, is drawn well and can win again

Hawkesbury: Race 7 (4:20pm)
No. 2 Order Again

Order Again looks the runner to beat in the Listed Rowley Mile.

The seven-year-old son of Iffraaj has been a good horse for several seasons now and has returned some good efforts in decent races this preparation, including placings in both the Listed Civic Stakes and the Listed Winter Stakes.

James McDonald jumps into the saddle today, the horse is rock-hard fit and he might not be offered a better opportunity to win in black type company again.
