On last nights premiere episode of series two of The Masked Singer Australia, it was revealed that the Echidna was “The Scud” Mark Philippoussis.
The Scud was a dud – only lasting one episode.
This of course, wasn’t the first time the former world number 8 seed, Davis Cup winning Tennis bad-boy had dablled in reality TV.
Who could ever forget his own dating show – Age of Love?
The Poo joins some elite company of Aussie Sports stars having a crack at reality shows, which is increasingly becoming the norm these days.
They say sport is the best reality TV, but it turns out reality TV needs ex-athletes to boost the ratings.
Using our extensive and comprehensive time, resources and research we’ve complied a comprehensive list
The Masked Singer
We’ve already mentioned The Scud getting knocked off last night, but last season the likes of Brett Lee revealed as the parrot.
And Wendell Sailor was the Rhino.
Big Brother
Former AFL listed player (NOT A STAR) Daniel Gorringe was far better on the most recent series of Big Brother than his footy career.
He’ll tell you that himself.
Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald went in the Big Brother house back in 2004 when he was a retired former Swan/Crows player after an injury struck career.
However, the standout performance and actual sports star to spend time in the Big Brother house is the one and only Warwick Capper who was evicted for flashing.
Good times.
I’m A Celebirty…Get Me Out of Here!
There’s been plenty of retired Aussie (and international) Sports Stars pay a visit to the jungle since the show debuted back in 2015.
Billy Brownless and Dale Thomas (who have gone on to have poor taste in bookmakers since then) spent time in the jungle earlier in the year which now feels like 24 years ago.
Hawks fans were in for a treat when Dermott Brereton and Shane Crawford (Runner up) spent time in the jungle together.
Anthony Mudine and Danny Green caught up on old times.
Bernard Tomic was on the same series, he only lasted 48 hours.
Brendan Fevola did win the second series of I’m a Celebrity
And Warnie was confronted with his fear of Spiders and Steve Waugh.
There was also Fredy Flintoff who won the first series along with Paul Harragon (Rugby League) Barry Hall (runner-up), Merv Hughes (Cricket), Lesiel Jones (Swimming) Courtney Hancock (Ironwoman), Dane Swan (runner-up), Lisa Curry (Swimming), Josh Gibson (AFL) to name a few more.
Australian Survivor
Who can forget Brisbane Lions (proudly sponsored by Neds) legend Simon Black’s efforts on Survivor last year?
Blacky was a quiet achiever, but this is the rollcall of those who have attempted a series or two of Australian Survior.
Mo Hope (AFLW)
Lee Carseldine (Cricket)
Mat Rogers (NRL)
Lydia Lassila (Winter Olympics)

The Recruit
We couldn’t possibly do this blog without mentioning the one and only Matt Eagles!
He played his first game in two years on Saturday night.
This is turning out to be a bloody long list, so we’re going to do some special shoutouts.
