The Group 1 Winx Stakes is the feature event this weekend at Royal Randwick and it looks a cracking race with many chances.
We have completed our homework and our full 2020 Winx Stakes Day Tips & Preview can be found below.
Desert Path has been racing very well recently back in Sydney and he won impressively over this distance at Rosehill last start.
He is being asked to carry more weight here but he has drawn perfectly in barrier two with James McDonald on top.
I’m a fan of horses on the rise with a lot of upside in these highway races and It’s Me fits the bill perfectly.
The four year old mare was impressive when winning on debut at Scone over the 1000m and she can repeat that here.
New King did plenty wrong when winning at Rosehill last start.
Only James McDonald could have got the horse home in the straight as he managed to get the most out of the horse when required.
I think the horse has a lot of upside and he can win again.
September Run is a filly with a fair amount of ability and upside.
She finished just three lengths behind Away Game in the Group 3 Widden Stakes at Randwck last prep before putting together back to back wins at Canterbury and Doomben.
She will need the pace on up front but James McDonald is steering and we are getting double figure odds in the Group 2 Silver Shadow.
I have a pretty high opinion of the Kris Lees trained Special Reward who finished his campaign with two impressive wins in black type company last prep.
He won at this track, distance and grade when defeating Cascadian and Jungle Edge on a Soft 7 and I think he will get similar conditions here on Saturday in the Group 3 Show County Quality Handicap.
Sweet Deal looks incredible value at her current price in the sixth event of the day.
This is a high level mare who won at Group 3 level first up last prep by over two lengths on the soft.
She is being asked to carry a bit more weight than a lot of these but she has a class edge and has drawn well in barrier five for the Group 3 Toy Show.
The Bostonian went to another level last prep when he became a three time Group 1 winner first up winning the Canterbury Stakes at this track over the 1300m.
He beat home Savatiano in that race who has since come out and won at Caulfield last week.
He was then narrowly denied in the Group 1 George Ryder at Rosehill.
Brandenburg is a very talented young horse who has a heap of upside.
He won the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes first up last prep over 1400m before finishing within two lengths from the winner in three consecutive Group 1’s. Two of those against the older horses.
Just Thinkin’ will only get better as he steps up in distance but he has the class to perform well first up at this level.
Three year old colt Bartley was narrowly denied in the Group 3 Black Opal during his last campaign before being well beaten in the Group 1 Sires Produce.
He has had two trials leading into this first up assignment and he is more than capable of winning a race of this quality.
