The Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes is the feature race of the day for the three year old’s over the 1300 meters.
That is not the only quality race that we will witness at Royal Randwick on Saturday and we have previewed all nine races in our 2020 Up And Coming Stakes Day Tips & Preview below.
All Saints’ Eve impressed in her most recent trial when doing her best work late behind Savatiano.
The lightly raced mare has managed two wins and two placings from six career starts including a very narrow defeat behind Asiago in the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic.
She is a talented young mare who is more than capable at this level and she can kick start her campaign, and our day, with a win.
Niccorose absolutely urinated in on the heavy Randwick track two weeks ago and I’m unsure why we are getting $3.50 about the horse again in a very similar grade of race.
He rises slightly in weight but I think he is one of the better bets of the day if you can get anything over $3.00
Masked Crusader is quite simply too good for this field.
He just wins.
Spiritual Pursuit is a handy mare who trialed well leading into this.
She can run second.
I have a lot of time for the three year old colt Bartley who has held together nicely when finishing third in a recent trial.
He just missed in the Group 3 Black Opal last prep but was no much for them in the Group 1 Sires Produce over the 1400m.
James McDonald will steer.
Taikomochi has been excellent in his two runs so far this prep with his most recent a third in the Listed Winter Challenge Stakes at Rosehill.
The son of Snitzel should be ready to peak at his third run and getting out to a more suitable distance.
They simply went too hard in front when Sangria ran sixth first up at Randwick but I thought Tommy Berry held the mare together late and didn’t ask too much of her.
She will appreciate both the step back in distance as well as grade for this assignment and Berry should be able to cross from barrier six and take up the running or sit just in behind them.
North Pacific proved he is a pretty smart colt when he crossed over heels in the straight and put pay to the field first up at Rosehill.
He was not far behind Farnan when finishing third in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes during the Autumn before being put away for a spell.
He has clearly come back a bigger and more mature colt and he can continue his winning ways in the feature race of the day.
There are many quality horses resuming in this 1400m handicap and the Dissident gelding Pancho is one of them.
His first up performance in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes when finishing 1.9 lengths behind Brandenburg last prep was excellent and I like the fact he has had a trial leading into this.
He will carry just 52kg and the $4.80 looks very juicy to me.
Charretera has placed in all four of his runs this prep including a very narrow second last time out at this track and distance.
He has proven that he can handle the heavy track and he maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier three with Tommy Berry steering.
Hopefully he finishes our day on a winning note.
