The Valley Tips & Preview – Saturday 1st August

We have nine quality races available to us at The Valley this Saturday afternoon and we are here to help build a bank!

Our full preview as well as tips can be found below.

Race 1: Support Living Legends Handicap (1600m) 12:35pm
No. 2 Al Galayel

Al Galayel was excellent at Headquarters last time out and just ran out of time when reeling in the leaders late.

The seven year old has a good record over the 1600m and has raced well at The Valley in the past and he can kick start our day on a winning note.

Race 2: Jockey Celebration Day Handicap (1000m) 1:10pm
No. 2 Tanker

Tanker is a talented young horse who was excellent in his first ever race start winning the Debtant Stakes at Caulfield in a very slick time.

He returned to the races for the first time since finishing 13th in the Neds Blue Diamond Stakes but this looks a very winnable race for him first up.

Race 3: 3YO Handicap (1000m) 1:50pm
No.1 A Beautiful Night

I’m sticking with the class runner of the race and A Beautiful Night is clearly that.

The second of her race wins came over the 1000m at Caulfield when she won the Neds Blue Diamond Preview and I think The Valley will suit her to a tee.

We clearly went up the wrong price at $11.00 and the punters have jumped in but she still remains a good betting proposition.

Race 4: Benchmark 78 Handicap (1000m) 2:30pm
No. 4 Brooklyn Hustle

Brooklyn Hustle has had the one start at The Valley which resulted in a very impressive two length win as a two year old.

She has competed in black type most of her racing career and this looks a really nice assignment first up for her.

Dwayne Dunn will have plenty of options for the daughter of Starspangledbanner from barrier four and she will be tough to beat.

Race 5: Benchmark 78 Handicap (1600m) 3:10pm
No. 11 Soaring Eagle

Soaring Eagle is a mare racing in consistent form right now and she is more than capable of a high rating performance on her day.

She maps to get a lovely run just in behind the leaders from barrier three and the 1600m should not be an issue.

Race 6: Benchmark 84 Handicap (1200m) 3:50pm
No. 10 Wilmot Pass

Wilmot Pass was impressive when winning in open class company at Felmington last start and the four year old gelding again looks well placed.

He will appreciate the step back in class and is being asked to carry no more weight from her last start win.

Jamie Kah was aboard last time and she retains the ride and should get a nice run in transit from barrier two.

Race 7: Vale Bob Gaylard Handicap (2040m) 4:25pm
No. 7 Polly Grey

Polly Grey has managed six wins and six minor placings from her 20 career race starts and the grey mare should be ready to peak at her fourth run this prep.

She was excellent at Flemington last start where she was doing her best work late and with even luck she will be featuring in the finish.

Race 8: Benchmark 78 Handicap (1500m) 5:00pm
No. 2 Winning Partner

Winning Partner has put in three very nice runs so far this prep as the five year old gelding works through the grades.

He gets out to a more suitable trip now at his fourth run and he looks the one to beat from the good draw.

Race 9: Benchmark 70 Handicap (1200m) 5:35pm
No. 2 Sebrakate

I have a lot of time for this son of Sebring who has been a consistent performer over his short 12 start career.

He has placed on two occasions at Group level and he has two wins and a second from three first up runs.

He can finish our day on a winning note.
