Super Rugby Aotearoa Round 8 Tips & Preview

It’s getting to the business end of Super Rugby Aotearoa as the Crusaders continue to set the standard.

After suffering their first defeat of the competition last week the Crusaders side now travels to Waikato to look for a rebound against the winless Chiefs.

Elsewhere the Blues can put some space between them and the chasing pack as they try to hold onto second place.

Read on for our tips and previews here.

Chiefs v Crusaders
Crusaders to Cover -8.5 @ $1.88

Under normal circumstances you’d be entering this game thinking “Crusaders by how much” when it comes to finding a tip.

After getting stunned by the Hurricanes last week, the Crusaders are about as close to morals to win this as you can get and anything over $1.01 head to head should be considered good value.

There’s more value in a line which is in the single digits only because that seems to be the way the Chiefs play at the moment.

Six matches, six defeats, five of which were by seven or less points, they know how to go close but not close enough.

It’s too tough to pass up a motivated Crusaders side to win this one and cover though.

Highlanders v Blues
Blues Halftime/Fulltime

The Blues managed to arrest their two game losing run with a win over the Chiefs last weekend and hold on to second spot ahead of the Hurricanes.

They have a chance to increase their advantage with the Wellington based side on a bye this weekend and also keep in touch with the Crusaders.

It was a close battle between the teams when they met in Auckland this season with the Blues winning 27-24.

Overall, this has been a very rough season for the Highlanders and the Blues should be able to get home here.
