It still hurts.
I’ve been thinking about this day for a long, long time.
That goal.
That bloody check side kick from Brent Daniels to snatch a three-point win for the Giants in the semi-final at the Gabba.
All pre-season, all extended season break I’ve been waiting for this day.
The day the Brisbane Lions (proudly sponsored by Neds) get redemption.
Had it not been for a horrible third quarter, where we conceded seven goals to the Cats there could be a very different dialogue going into this game.
But this is not a time for coulda, shoulda and woulda.
This is a time to chalk up another W and get some sweet, sweet redemption.
Not only have the boys had some serious time in their Sydney hotel to think about the second half from last weekend, they’ve got that added incentive to get one over GWS.
With the incentives of getting back to our winning ways, proving we’re not flat-track bullies and a chance to make life difficult for our opponents gives our boys plenty of fodder to get the job done.
We were brilliant in the first half last weekend before tiring out.
The nine-day break will hopefully do the Lions a world of good.
Win playing exciting football or win playing ugly.
It doesn’t matter.
We just need to get the job done.
The team doesn't have to look far for motivation ahead of this week's clash against GWS 🦁

Expect 2020 Brownlow medalist Lachie Neale to dominate this Saturday, even if the Giants opt to have Matt de Boer tagging him all day.
Neale finished with 26 disposals last week against the Cats and was in stunning form, especially in the first half.
The man is averaging 29 touches per game and the clear $2.75 favourite to win this years Brownlow
While he is developing a reputation as a multi-killer, it doesn’t matter.
The man is at the absolute peak of his career and will have the Brownlow won by Round 8.
Expect another big day on the park from Lachie with 30+ touches.
"I want to go in and get my hands a bit dirtier than I did last week"
Neale is a man on a mission ahead of Round 7 😤

The skipper is playing in pain.
That calf injury is giving him some serious grief but he’s pushing through the barrier.
It’s just a niggle he says, but he’ll push through.
There’s nothing more inspirational than a captains goal, especially in a big game like this.
Expect Zorks to slot through a sausage roll sometime this Saturday arvo to really give the boys a lift.
Zorko tells the Roar Deal podcast he does not expect to be fully over his injury until next year, but will push through the pain barrier.
