Coffs Harbour: Race 3 (2:05pm)
No. 7 Ursula

Ursula hasn’t been seen at the races since March, but she enjoyed a competitive debut preparation and can make a winning return at Coffs Harbour this afternoon.

The two-year-old daughter of Panzer Division finished second at each of her first two career starts before breaking her maiden at Armidale.

She was last seen stepping out in metro company at Eagle Farm and while that did look a bridge too far at this point of her career, so is certainly up to something of this quality.

Sale: Race 5 (2:45pm)
No. 8 I Could Do Better

I Could Do Better is yet to show his best form in Australia, but this is a big drop in class for him, and he is over the odds at his current quote ($26 at publish).

The Waller-trained import ran seventh behind Honey Esprit at Flemington first-up and has since finished down the order behind the likes of Heavenly Emperor and Tavidance in races at Caulfield.

Damien Thornton has options from the rails draw and I am more than happy to have an each way play at the price.

Coffs Harbour: Race 6 (3:50pm)
No. 7 Penshurst

Penshurst has returned some pleasing efforts this campaign and the Sawtell Cup looks a lovely feature race for him.

The Fastnet Rock gelding finished third behind the talented Galway here at Coffs Harbour three starts back, before winning over 2130m at Grafton.

I like that he has trialled in the lead-up to this race, and he should relish the conditions of this race.

Sale: Race 8 (4:30pm)
No. 3 Boomstock

Boomstock has been a strong and consistent performer this preparation and strikes another winnable contest at Sale this afternoon.

The Tavistock gelding has finished worse than second just once in six starts back from a spell and was an eye-catching winner at Cranbourne two back, most notably.

He’s rock-hard fit, drawn well and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.
