Randwick: Race 1 (11:35am)
No. 8 Tejori

Tejori has been racing well this preparation and looms as a winning chance in the first at Randwick today, at a nice price ($9 at publish).

The Hinchinbrook filly recorded consecutive wins at Canberra and in a Highway race here at Randwick when resuming.

She finished a length and a half fifth two back and mustered a nice turn of foot late to fill the minors over 1200m last time out.

The small rise in trip should suit and I like that Nick Olive is mixing things up a little with her.

Randwick: Race 5 (1:55pm)
No. 3 Lashes

Lashes was scratched from a race in Brisbane last week and looks the one to beat third-up in Race 5 at Randwick today.

The Matt Smith-trained mare returned to the races with a lovely effort to finish second behind the in-form Adelong and wasn’t quite able to get into the contest when fifth last time out.

I am happy to forgive that run, she typically goes well on a rain-affected track and with James McDonald jumping back into the saddle, she’ll certainly take beating.

Flemington: Race 5 (2:10pm)
No. 9 Lord Von Costa

Lord Von Costa has improved for two starts this time and looks ready to peak third-up in the All Victorian Sprint Series Final.

The veteran sprinter finished only a couple of lengths from the winner when he resumed in the Listed Straight Six, before returning another pleasing effort at this track and distance when fourth behind some quality horses.

Craig Williams stays aboard, the horse is treated well at the weights and he looks over the odds at a double-figure price.

Eagle Farm: Race 7 (3:22pm)
No. 5 Quantico

Sydney raider Quantico will take winning form into this seventh at Eagle Farm today and will take a power of beating.

The John O’Shea-trained colt has made just four appearances at the races so far but has enjoyed something of a meteoric rise to prominence in winning twice and finishing second on another occasion.

He returned to the races a couple of weeks ago with a dominant performance that saw him beat his rivals by three lengths at Newcastle and any improvement on that effort would just see him winning again.
