The Meadows: Race 6 (8:18pm)
No. 2 True Detective

True Detective is an above-average runner and I think he’ll take beating in tonight’s Group 3 Fireball Final.

The son of Black Magic Opal has been returning big performances in good races all season, and ran a close second behind Bronski Beat in the Group 1 Sandown Cup Final, most notably.

He should be able to navigate to a nice position in transit from Box 2 and with even luck, he can finish over the top of his rivals.

The Meadows: Race 7 (8:40pm)
No. 3 Simon Told Helen

Simon Told Helen is probably the best greyhound currently going around in Australia, and he looks the one to beat in tonight’s Group 1 Maturity Final.

The son Of Barcia Bale has returned to the races in typically strong form this time, and won his way into this field with a dominant performance in his heat last week.

Bad luck looks his biggest danger but around the $2.20 mark, I’m happy to be with him.

The Meadows: Race 8 (9pm)
Same Race Multi

The outstanding contests continue in Race 8 and Group 1 winner Black Opium headlines the field.

Black Opium has been a strong and consistent performer throughout her racing career and enjoyed a fruitful trip to Queensland, highlighted by a win in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup, before returning south to finish second from Box 5 here last week.

She goes on top of our Same Race Multi.

The other runners that have caught my eye here at Weblec Ace and Whodat Opal, so I’m going to select them to finish in the first three and four respectively.

Our Same Race Multi selections are:

  • 6 Black Opium (Win)
  • 5 Weblec Ace (Top 3)
  • 4 Whotdat Opal (Top 4)
The Meadows: Race 11 (9:58pm)
No. 1 Flossing

Flossing will take winning form into the penultimate contest at The Meadows tonight and is up to making it two in a row.

The daughter of Banjo Boy has missed a place only a couple of times in her last eight starts and returned a particularly eye-catching effort to win in slick time at Geelong, last time out.

This is harder, but she’s drawn to receive all the favours from Box 1.
