PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship Tips & Preview

PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship Tips & Preview

We’ve enjoyed more than a month of world-class Bull Riding and finally, we have arrived at the pointy end of the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge!

The PBR has proven to be an outstanding hunting ground for value and we have managed to find plenty of lucrative winners so far.

You can find a new set of PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship tips below, and don’t forget that you can stream all the PBR action live and free, right here at Neds!

Playoffs Game 1 Best Bets
Chase Dougherty vs Come On Over
Ride Time Under 3.5 Seconds ($2.40)

Chase Dougherty is booked for a couple of tough rides in Playoff 1 and his first will be Come On Over, who is set to start an extremely short odds-on favourite.

Come On Over has made only five appearances in the PBR previously, but has unsaddled the cowboy on all but once occasion and made light work of Cole Melancon most recently.

Particularly that given this will be Dougherty’s first ride, I’m happy to back it being short lived.

Playoffs Game 1 Multi - Pan Am, Big Black Cat, Space Force All to Win
$2.88

There are some thrilling contests on the slate in Playoff 1, but I think we can take some good value for these three bulls all to win in a multi.

Pan Am and Big Black Cat both come up against Stetson Wright in this bracket.

Wright has been riding well since returning at the Monster Energy Team Challenge but unfortunately for him, he’s drawn two exceptional bulls this week and I think he’ll find it tough.

Space Force is also enjoying a purple patch of form and he adds nice value at around $1.58.

Playoffs Game 2 Best Bets
best bet
Ezekiel Mitchell vs Blue Fire
Ride Time Under 3.5 Seconds ($2.10)

Blue Fire has made just four appearances at the PBR so far, but he is an exciting talent and is understandably a clear favourite to beat Ezekiel Mitchell in Game 2 of the Playoffs.

Mitchell has been riding fairly, but Blue Fire has thrown the Cowboy in three of four games, under the 3.5-second line on all three occasions.

I’m more than happy to take the $2.10 on that result materialising again.

Rafael Henrique Dos Santos vs Boogie Bomb
Dos Santos to Win ($2.20)

Rafael Henrique Dos Santos has been riding in terrific form recently and he represents great value to win his game with Boogie Bomb at $2.20.

Dos Santos stepped out at the Texas Cowboy Reunion last weekend and his impressive ride of 87.5 was enough to see him into a close second behind Chase Outlaw.

Boogie Bomb’s form has been fair, but he has been a reasonably inconsistent bull since debuting and I think this is a real opportunity for Dos Santos.

Playoffs Game 2 Multi – Zorro, Blue Fire, Honey Badger, Evil Intentions All to Win
$3.19

I’m eager to head out of the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge with a bang, and we’re getting excellent value for these four bulls all to win in Game 2 combined into a multi.

Zorro is ranked in the top 100 bulls and has taken less than two seconds throw the Cowboy at his last two appearances.

Blue Fire has recorded three wins from four games in the PBR, Evil Intentions has won six of his last seven and Honey Badger was a dominant debut winner.

—– EARLIER —–

We’re set for another weekend of high intensity, world-class Bull Riding at the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge!

Our weekly PBR tips have been flying and we’re confident of finding a few more winners in Games 28-30!

Game 28 Best Bets
Lucas Divino vs Twinkle Toes
Twinkle Toes to Win ($2.25)

This looms as an evenly matched contest and for that reason, I am happy to take the value around Twinkle Toes to win.

Twinkle Toes hasn’t been able to buck the rider at his last two appearances, but his form prior to that was excellent and included some high-ranked Cowboys.

Divino is currently ranked seventh in the world and while he has returned some nice performances of his own, he’s had a habit of inconsistency.

Game 28 Multi – Kent’s Wildside, Losing My Religion, Hurricane Tested All to Win
$3.15

Game 28 is surprisingly dominated by Cowboy-favoured contests, but we’re getting a nice price for these three bulls to win their respective matches.

I’m happy to take on an inconsistent Joao Henrique Lucas with Kent’s Wildside, likewise Boudreaux Campbell with Losing My Religion.

Hurricane Tested shares the market with Marco Eguchi but given this will be his first ride of the day, I’m happy to be with the bull.

Game 29 Best Bets
best bet
Braden Richardson vs Pink Tornando
Ride Time Under 3.5 Seconds ($2)

Pink Tornado is a very short-priced favourite to beat Braden Richardson in Game 29 and for value, I’m going to take under the 3.5 second line.

Pink Tornado snapped a two-game losing streak with a lively performance against Cody Nance in Game 19.

Richardson meanwhile has failed to score points in 2020.

Game 29 Multi – The Good Stuff, Drop The Hammer, Bullfrog All to Win
$2.40

Game 29’s multi will see three more Bulls combined for a nice price of $2.40.

The Good Stuff has found strong form recently and as Matt Triplett’s first ride, I think he will prove too good.

We had good success in tipping against Ryan Dirteater last week, so I’m also including both of his Game 29 rides in Drop The Hammer and Bullfrog.

Game 30 Best Bets
Ky Hamilton vs Sniper
Hamilton to Win ($2.45)

Sniper will be the second bull that Ky Hamilton climbs aboard in Game 30 and I think there’s nice value around him at $2.45.

Hamilton has enjoyed a good time of things at the Monster Energy Team Challenge so far and has returned some competitive efforts on some quality bulls.

The twenty-year-old Aussie faces a decent bull in Sniper, but who himself has been a little inconsistent in 2020.

Game 30 Multi – Buckin’ For Cash, Voo Doo Too, Heavy D, Mason’s Missouri Golden All to Win
$3.25

Chasing a four-leg multi has proven to be a lucrative betting play for us these last few weeks, and I think that Game 30 represents another good opportunity.

All of Buckin’ For Cash, Voo Doo Too, Heavy D and Mason’s Missouri Golden are set to begin their contests as short-priced favourites but combined, we’re getting a terrific price.

—– EARLIER —–

We’re winding towards the pointy end of the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge, but there’s lots more world class Bull Riding on the slate this weekend!

We managed to dig out a few more lucrative winners last week and you can find a new set of tips for Games 19-21 of the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge below.

Don’t forget that Neds is the only place that you can stream all the PBR action live!

Game 19 Best Bets
Junio Patrik Souza vs Get Shorty
Get Shorty to Win ($1.85)

Get Shorty will be the second bull that Junio Patrik Souza will be legged aboard in Game 19, but I still believe that he will take a power of beating.

Get Shorty is actually yet to contest at Buck in 2020, but he returned some terrific performances in 2019 and threw some of the PBR’s best Cowboys.

The reason we are getting the price that we are is probably because it has been a while since Get Shorty competed, but I am more than happy to be with him.

Game 19 Multi – Total Feeds Bushwacked, Pink Tornado, Dusty’s Revenge All to Win
$3.11

Given how far we are into the competition now, there is more value to be found around the bulls and we are getting a lovely price for these three combined in a multi.

Total Feeds Bushwacked has managed to buck off some of the highest-ranked Cowboys in the world this year, while both Pink Tornado and Dusty’s Revenge have also performed well.

Game 20 Best Bets
best bet
Valdiron De Oliveira vs High Razor
High Razor to Win ($2.05)

Betting suggests that this will be one of the better contests in Game 20, but I am more than happy to take the $2.05 on offer for High Razor.

Simply put, High Razor has been virtually unbeatable, and has managed to buck off the Cowboy in each of his last fifteen appearances, dating back to early 2019.

De Oliveira is a talented Cowboy, but his record is far less impressive, and I genuinely think he’d need to pull something out of the bag to win this.

Game 20 Multi – Spotted Demon, Rocket, Split Personality All to Win
$3.77

Reloading with another three-leg multi in Game 20.

Betting (and to a lesser extent, his record) suggests that Daylon Swearingen is the weakest link in Game 20, so I’ve elected to take him on twice with Spotted Demon and Rocket.

Split Personality has been in good form and is a firm favourite to beat Alex Cerqueira.

Game 21 Best Bets
Ryan Dirteater vs Pistol
Dirteater to Win ($2.15)

The appropriately named Ryan Dirteater will take on Pistol in Game 21 and represents a good bit of value to win at $2.15.

Dirteater returned some outstanding performances and results during the early part of 2020 and didn’t miss a placing at his six rodeo appearances.

Pistol meanwhile will be making his PBR debut and obviously, could therefore be anything. Happy to take the rise.

Game 21 Multi – Party Animal, Crack Attack, Spotted Pearl, Comfortably Numb All to Win
$3.88

Our final multi for the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge features four legs.

All four of these bulls have been in good form this year, and all enter Game 21 as firm favourites to defeat their respective Cowboys.

I think that the combined $3.88 that we’re taking at publish is excellent value.

—– EARLIER —–

The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge has already provided us with some world-class Bull Riding, and the action continues in Las Vegas this weekend!

We found a few lucrative winners last week and once again, we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you!

Game 10 Best Bets
Ezekiel Mitchell vs Jungle Can Do
Mitchell to Win ($1.88)

Up first on Saturday, Ezekiel Mitchell will climb aboard Jungle Can Do and I think that the Cowboy will take beating.

Mitchell’s recent record in the PBR has been decent, but that of his opponent hasn’t been particularly good – Jungle Can Do has managed to dislodge the rider only twice in his last eleven Bucks.

Chase Dougherty managed to stay aboard the bull for a decent score in Game 5 and I think Mitchell can do something similar.

Game 10 Multi – Haboob, Acting Crazy & Rocko All to Win
$2.41

Haboob, Acting Crazy and Rocko all enter Game 5 as firm favourites and they represent terrific value legged together in a multi.

Haboob unseated the in-form Colten Jesse in just over three seconds last weekend and Acting Crazy also took only a couple of seconds to throw Derek Kolbaba. Rocko was unable to beat the cowboy in what was his PBR debut, but I am confident that he’ll improve for the effort.

Game 11 Best Bets
Derek Kolbaba vs Diamond Willow
Kolbaba to Win ($2.95)

Derek Kolbaba rode extremely well last weekend and I think that he is every chance of defeating Diamond Willow, who will be his second tide in Game 11.

Kolbaba has mixed his form a little this year, but the Teams format appeared to really bring him on last week and he’ll take plenty of confidence into this Buck.

Diamond Willow was meanwhile defeated by Garrett Smith, and I think that he represents a better opportunity for Kolbaba than the cowboy’s other ride in this Game, Blue Fire.

Game 11 Multi – Blue Fire, War Wagon & Yo Adrian! All to Win
$2.10

Blue Fire, War Wage and Yo Adrian! Will compete against Derek Kolbaba, Leandro Machado and Eli Vastbinder in Game 11.

All three bulls have returned good performances recently and they will each be the first bull that each respective cowboy will climb aboard in Game 11.

I think that $2.10 is a nice combined price for the three.

Game 12 Best Bets
Stetson Wright vs Milk Man
Wright to Win ($1.75)

Stetson Wright’s return last weekend well and truly lived up to the hype, and if he can muster a similar performance on Saturday, I think he’ll be beating Milk Man and scoring large.

Wright notched up a team-high 87.5 in Game 7 and will be full of confidence heading into this Buck.

Milk Man’s recent form has been shaky at best, and I think that he has met his match in Wright this weekend.

Game 12 Multi – Monkey Doo, Chicken And Biscuits & Ponotoc All to Win
$2.92

Going for another three-leg multi of Bulls all to defeat their opponents in Game 12.

Monkey Doo was too good for Derek Kolbaba last week, while Chicken And Biscuits is yet to taste anything but success in five Bucks.

Ponotoc has been one of the more highly rated bulls at the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge so far and I’m confident he’ll be winning again as well.

Game 13 Best Bets
Leandro Machado vs Life As A Gangster
Life As A Gangster to Win ($2.65)

Life As A Gangster unseated both of his opponents in Games 2 and 8 respectively and I can’t figure out why he has been priced as such a distant outsider.

Leandro Machado has been riding only fairly and, looking further into Life As A Gangster’s form, he has lost just two of his last eight Bucks.

More than happy to take the value around the bull here.

Colten Jesse vs Crash
Ride Time Under 3.5 Seconds ($2.30)

Colten Jesse has been reasonably inconsistent recently and faces another tough task in the form of Crash in Game 13.

Crash has only suffered a couple of defeats since debuting in 2017 and at many of his recent appearance, he’s managed to throw the Cowboys in under 3.5 seconds.

Game 14 Best Bets
Chase Dougherty vs Gambini
Gambini to Win ($1.95)

Betting suggests that this is going to be one of the better contests this weekend and I am eager to have something on Gambini as the outsider.

Gambini experienced something of a dead patch in form earlier this year, but his recent efforts have suggested that is now behind him, and he has won three of his last four matches.

Dougherty has been riding fairly, but as the favourite I am happy to take him on.

Game 14 Multi – Anthrax Jr, Slick & Red Dawn All to Win
$2.97

These three bulls will enter Game 14 in good form and as reasonably firm favourites in each of their contests.

Combined, we can take just a touch under $3 at publish and from my perspective, that looks like outstanding value.

Game 15 Best Bets
Game 15 Multi – Paint The Town, Major Threat, Landslide, Thunder’s Cartell All to Win
$3.70

I hopeful of sending us home with a bang, with this very gettable four-leg multi.

These bulls have all performed well enough recently to get the job done in Game 15, and the section as a whole actually looks heavily skewed in favour of the animals.

—EARLIER—

The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge will light up Las Vegas this weekend and we are set for an exciting and unique Bull Riding event.

Unlike the previous Bucks that we have covered, the world’s best Cowboys have instead been divided into teams, and individual ride points will be combined for an overall team score.

The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge is a nine-day event, spanning Saturday June 6th through Monday, June 15th, and we’ll be updating the best bets below to find you top value in each and every game.

We managed to tip a perfect Buck at the Lucas Oil Invitational and you can find our best bets for the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge below.

Game 1 Best Bets
Jose Vitor Leme vs Squeeze Box
Ride Time Under 3.5 Seconds ($2.60)

First cab off the rank is world number one Jose Vitor Leme up against relative newcomer Squeeze Box.

Vitor Leme failed to get on the scoreboard at the Lucas Oil Invitational but as his ranking suggests, 2020 has otherwise been a breath-taking season for the Brazilian.

Squeeze Box has only made seven appearances at PBR events since debuting in 2019 and has been defeated by a Cowboy just once – that being Marcus Mast’s ride at the Denver Chute Out in January.

I generally like to side with the Bulls in early rounds at events and given that on five of six occasions that Squeeze Box has thrown the rider in under 3.5 seconds, I’m going to take him at the line.

Game 1 Multi – Cowboy’s Red River & Big Mac to Both Defeat Stetson Lawrence
$1.96

The make up of the Monster Energy Team Challenge means that it is possible for a Cowboys to have two rides in one Game, and that will be the case for Stetson Lawrence first-up.

Lawrence returned some pleasing efforts to finish the Lucas Oil Invitational in third place, but he has been reasonably inconsistent all season and has tended to take a couple of rides to find his best form.

Big Mac’s recent form is definitely superior to Cowboy’s Red River’s but given the latter will be the first bull that Lawrence climbs aboard, I’m confident that both will be able to unseat the world number seventeen.

Game 2 Best Bets
Stetson Wright vs Life As A Gangster
Wright to Win ($2.70)

Youngster Stetson Wright will make his long-awaited return to the arena on Saturday after an injury lay-off, and it looks like being something of a baptism of fire, with two rides confirmed in Game 2.

Wright was riding in terrific touch last year but a string of misfortunes ended his season. I am happy to give him Ride 1 against Big Black Cat, but he comes up against a very beatable in Ride 2 in the form of Life As A Gangster.

Life As A Gangster has gone 4-4 at his last eight events and with even luck, I think that Wright could very well prove over the odds.

Game 2 Multi – Ponotoc & Acting Crazy to Both Defeat Derek Kolbaba
$1.96

Going for a similar two-leg multi in Game 2 and selection Ponotoc and Acting Crazy both to beat Derek Kolbaba.

Kolbaba has scored points at just three of his last ten events and it is fair to say that it hasn’t been his best season on record.

Ponotoc has only made three appearances for the PBR so far, but enters this 2-1, while Acting Crazy has been defeated just once in his last eight events.

Game 3 Best Bets
Game 3 Multi – Fu Man Chu, Red Rocker, Rocko All to Win
$2.74

This looks like being the weakest of the three Games on Day 1 of the Monster Energy Team Challenge and I am eager to take on all three Cowboys in their first rides.

Brennon Eldred, Luciano De Castro and Roscoe Jarboe have all been shaky at best recently, and I think each would need to muster something special to win first-up.
