Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday, July 1

Sandown: Race 3 (1:35pm)
No. 8 Tavidance

Tavidance hasn’t been seen at the races since September, but he has typically contested far tougher races than this and can make a winning return at Sandown this afternoon.

The Tavistock gelding has recorded two wins and a minor from only four starts so far and returned to the races for just the one appearance in spring – an impressive win in BM70 company at Bendigo.

He’s drawn to receive a lovely run from an inside draw and will take beating.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 5 (3:10pm)
No. 10 Savigne

Savigne will take winning form into the fifth in Sydney on Wednesday and is primed to make it two in a row.

The Ocean Park mare needed the run when she finished down the order at Warwick Farm when resuming but couldn’t have been more impressive last time out and will only improve for that effort.

She’s drawn ideally, weighted to win and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Sandown: Race 6 (3:20pm)
No. 3 Rolling Moss

This is a drop in class for Rolling Moss and he is primed for a return to the winner’s stall.

The Shawn Mathrick-trained gelding recording impressive wins at Cranbourne and Mornington two and three starts back and was last seen finishing fourth behind the likes of Mister Mogul and Koonunga down the straight at Flemington.

He is rock-hard fit, drawn ideally in barrier 6 and gets a relief in the weights with Campbell Rawiller’s claim.

Sandown: Race 8 (4:30pm)
No. 1 Shahzade

Shahzade doesn’t know how to run a bad race and will take beating in the last race at Sandown today.

The Anthony Freedman-trained mare recorded consecutive wins three and four starts back and filled the minors behind Queen La Diva at Flemington, before finishing second to Whiskey Shooter here a couple of weeks ago.

The rise in trip will suit at this point of her prep and she’ll get relief in the weights with a claiming apprentice aboard.
