Swan Hill: Race 1 (12:30pm)
No. 11 Total Craft

Total Craft has been a model of consistency this time and I think that she can get us off to the best possible start by winning Race 1 at Swan Hill.

The Starcraft filly is yet to break her maiden, but she has placed in seven of eight career starts so far and was last seen finishing a half-length second at Stawell.

She is rock-hard fit for this contest and with even luck from the wide draw, she can finally break through for a race win.

Swan Hill: Race 3 (1:30pm)
No. 2 Rock The Ring

The Elvstroem Classic has produced some good horses in recent years and the Lindsay Park-trained Rock The Ring looks a big chance of winning in 2020.

The Reward For Effort colt has made only three appearances as the races so far, but has stamped himself as a horse to follow in breaking his maiden at Sale, and running a credible fourth in a tougher race at Flemington last time out.

Fitter fourth-up and from the ideal barrier 5, he’ll take a power of beating.

Swan Hill: Race 7 (3:30pm)
No. 1 Rich Itch

Rich Itch has stripped fitter for two starts this time and the Golden Topaz looks a lovely target for him this afternoon.

The Shawn Mathrick-trained sprinter was a smart performer in the spring and recorded a lovely win in a Listed race most notably.

He needed the run when he finished down the order at Caulfield when resuming, but he was far better when running home well to finish fifth in the Straight Six at Flemington last time out.

I concede that he’ll need to be at his best to beat a couple of these, but he’s drawn to receive a lovely run and is certainly up to the class. ($15 at publish).

Swan Hill: Race 8 (4pm)
No. 1 Achernar Star

Archernar Star has been good since arriving on the east coast and he is primed to win the Swan Hill Cup.

The Gingerbread Man gelding was a strong and consistent performer in Perth’s best races during his west coast tenure, and he has finished second at two of his three starts in Victoria, finding form around some good horses.

Even with topweight, this looks a lovely race for him.
