He powered home to fill the minors, just over a length behind the winner Bronski Beat last week and anything close to that performance would see him back into the winner’s stall.
Captain Jake was an impressive winner in slick time here at Sandown Park last week and looks well placed to make it two in a row.
The son of Fernando Bale simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race, but his last-start effort was particularly eye-catching, particularly when considering he had to cross the field from out wide.
This looks like being one of the better races on tonight’s program, but Captain Jake still looks the one to beat.
Black Opium is an absolute star and is primed to record another win at Sandown Park tonight.
The talented chaser hasn’t finished worse that second at his last seven appearances, winning on four of those occasions, including dominant performance at The Meadows last week, so I’m going to select him as the winner in tonight’s Same Race Multi.
You Tell Me is also a classy type, so I’m going to select her to finish in the top three, while the well-drawn Junk Food Junkie can add a little more value by finishing in the top four.
