Volleyball: URAL MILITARY VS URAL RIDERS
5 Sets @ $2.70

Our favourite volleyball league – the Russian Ural Regional Championship is back in action today and this afternoon’s clash between Ural Military and Ural Raiders is set to be a beauty.

After a three-game losing streak, the Military goes into this match with some confidence having won their past two games including a solid 3-1 win over the Raiders in their most recent hit-out.

The Raiders will not be an easy task and will be hurting from their loss.

They will relish the chance to get some redemption over the Military this afternoon.

The Raiders have won four out of their last five and just recently smashed Ural Academy in straight-sets 3-0.

Head to head the Raiders have won seven games compared to the Military’s five.

While the market has the Raiders going in as the firm favourite, I expect this game to go down to the wire and believe there’s good value in it going the full five sets.

AUSTRIAN BUNDESLIGA -WSG SWAROVSKI WATTENS VS ST POLTEN
WSG Swarovski Wattens @ $2.05

Let’s get around some Bundesliga of the Austrian variety with the overnight midweek clash between WSG Swarovski Wattens and St. Polten.

It’s the relegation round and anything and everything can happen.

This is set to be a beauty and worth staying up for the 2:30 am AEST kick-off.

For the home team, Swarovski their first season back in the top-flight has been a tough one but they are a fighting chance to avoid being relegated as the section on the ladder is close.

The COVID19 shutdown was a buzzkill on their momentum as they had two wins and a draw from their last three games and will no doubt want to pick up where they left off.

Fellow cellar-dweller St.Polten have had a tough old year, finding themselves in last place but given the highly-congested state of the Austrian Bundesliga table, they are like Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber and there’s still a chance they can remain in the comp.

Earlier in the season, St Polten’s did beat Swarovski 5-1 which was back in November and a lot has changed since them.

It’s hard to get a feel for where the teams are at given the break, but if Swarosvski can pick up where they left off, they should be able to get the job done in this one.
