Racing in Melbourne comes to us from Headquarters this Saturday in what is quite a good card.
There are plenty of winners to be found, and hopefully we have helped you out with our thoughts and betting plays for all nine races below.
Man Of Peace is looking to bring the southern form to Melbourne and if he can, he is right in this race which lacks a lot of depth.
He has one win and two thirds to his name so far this prep in NSW and he has drawn well in barrier two for this assignment.
Super Yulong broke through for his maiden race win last time out at Pakenham running a very slick time and scoring by 1.3 lengths.
He looks like the step up in distance will suit and despite the poor barrier draw, he should be right in this race.
Snoggin’s does her best work when fresh and that’s exactly how the Busuttin and Young team has handled her prep so far.
The I Am Invincible mare will appreciate the considerable drop in class compared to what she has been tackling and should get a good run in transit from Ollie from barrier six.
Right You Are has managed three wins from five career race starts including his last three.
He returned from a spell with a dominant two length win at Werribee before scoring again at Caulfield last start and looks well placed again here.
The Last Napoleon was well beaten at Geelong first up but he will be much better suited over the short course.
This is his first go down the Flemington straight but he will strip fitter second up and is a threat at nice odds.
These middle distance/staying contests in Melbourne at the moment are a tough bunch to split.
But I can’t see why Chapada can’t be among the winners again.
His victory two weeks back at this track and distance was full of merit and although he will be asked to carry more weight, I still think he is the one to beat.
King Of Hastings looks the obvious choice in the feature race of the afternoon at Flemington.
The talented gelding has now won four times from 10 career starts and been runner up in a further four after a diminant win at Swan Hill last time out.
He is being asked to carry the big weight but his talent will take him a long way.
This is a wide open race in my opinion and I’ve found a couple at nice odds.
Rich Itch has had three runs this prep and his last two have been full of promise. He’ll be ready to peak now and is over the odds.
Inn Keeper has placed at his last four and although it is unknown how he’ll handle to step up to 1400m, he is going well enough to feature at nice each way odds.
Order Of Command is such a consistent sprinter and he comes into the race off a 5th at Group 1 behind Trekking.
He has had a freshen up into this assignment and although he is being asked to carry 62kg, his class will take him a long way.
